Hey guys, been a lurker at this forum for several years now, finally decided to get in on the action.
I'll start with a brief history of my life:
TL:DR version:Video Games.
Playstation 1,
my inheriting of most of the Nintendo consoles from other people.
And most recently my dive into the wonderful world of SEGA.
Got into the competitive fighting game genre, learned some things,
Was crushed when I realized that Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo EX + might actually be creatable.
I like to talk about older games.
And that about sums it up. I've just started my Genesis collection and was looking for a place to discuss all of the things.
Please take care of me. *Bows*
i sense in the force you two have a history

Hey, everybody. I registered here after trying a couple of other boards (wish I'd found this one sooner). I used to be pretty active in the newsgroup/early GameFAQs days, but due to college, life, etc. haven't really had time to interact online for awhile (as in about 10 years). I'd been trying to find a community with older Sega fans, but ended up finding a lot of new, teenage Sega fans discovering the systems due to all the hype the Dreamcast is getting these days, and just didn't feel like that was really my crowd. My first console was a Master System, and I was a Sega diehard up until the death of the DC, when I more or less got out of gaming. I never quit playing my old games, but gaming fell to the wayside as a hobby. The thing is, after a break, I've jumped back in full force with my old games, and hopefully I can contribute something here as well.
I should probably mention that I'm mostly into RPGs, 2D fighters, Shooters (as in the 2d variety), and 2d side scrollers. Not that I don't mind a good FMV game now and again. My personal favorite console was actually the Saturn, though, don't tell anybody.![]()
My name is Alexander, and I am a fan of demos, sega (Genesis and DC) and atari (mostly the atari jaguar) I came here because of the awesome community, that and Joe from gamesack is here. I am into FPS games and I like a good puzzle game.
Howdy. Saw Sonic 1 playing on a Mega Drive in an electronics store as a kid, and was instantly hooked. Lots of Sega stuff amassed over the years - SMS, MD, GG, Saturn, DC, the works. Just recently started hunting for Mega Drive stuff again, and just started up a Japanese MD collection with a VA2 model 1 and most of the Sonics. :3
I'll mainly be lurking, I think, especially in the tech aid section. Just region-modded my VA6 MD1, but wasn't aware of the NTSC colour-burst issue. Unfortunately, SCART wasn't much of a thing in Australia, so video encoder mod it is.
Hey, gang. I've been a Genesis owner from the beginning, playing it from the late '80s and early '90s onward. I tend to prefer the first- and second-gen games like ESWAT, Moonwalker, Dynamite Duke, etc.
Now I'm looking for an ace modder here in the U.S. who can help me region mod and overclock a Japanese Model 1 Mega Drive. If anyone has any tips, that'd be great.I'm looking to make something like RetroGameTech has on YouTube.

Hello. I've lurked a bit, and I figured I will make infrequent comments in the future. =)
I'm active on a few other forums, but this seemed to be a good old-game forum to hop on board as well.
I grew up with the SNES and its subsequent consoles. I only got a Sega console when I was in college and picked up a Saturn on a whim. It turned out to be a really fun little machine, and it sparked a real interest in Sega consoles and retro-gaming in general. If I had to pick a favorite Saturn game, it'd probably be Darius Gaiden. If I had to pick an exclusive, it'd be Bulk Slash or Layer Section.
Later I picked up a Dreamcast, and I love that little machine a lot, though mainly for its small-but-excellent shmup library, and its fun survival horror library (big Resident Evil fan).
Earlier this year I picked up a 3/4 Motherboard Model 2 Genesis (I just happened to look at the back and recalled the thread on this forum), and now I have a genesis as well. I don't have many games for it (about a dozen), and I don't plan on getting too many more (though any gamer knows how that one goes), but I really dig the little machine. Current favorites are probably Contra Hard Corps and Landstalker.
Consoles:
Genesis
Saturn
Dreamcast
PS2
You can get by very nicely with that selection, I find.
I also like to use Shiru Otaku's VGM Music Maker (or VGMM), so I'll probably post some FM tunes in the near future. My soundcloud page is here.
I'm looking forward to participating in some gaming discussion!
Hi everyone, my name is Gerry and I recently started collecting Genesis games. I have about 50 with boxes so far. A model 1 and a model 2 with wireless controllers. I'm mostly a PC Gamer but love the old classics.
Hey Folks !
I'm 29 years old and spend my childhood a lot behind the Megadrive. Have some other consoles bit the 16 bit stays awesome.
Now i want to mod my Megadrive with the Region switch, And since my jack output sounds weird i want to piggy back the Yamaha YM2612 with the YM3638 and give it's own buffer stage and keeping the original circuit alone.
Hope to have a good time here on this forum![]()
