Hello! My name is Sly Wolf. I have hadn't been on this sega website for more than two or three years now. I have been studying at the art college for over three years now and will be finishing it in the spring 2015. Even I hadn't play video games that much as I used to, but I really do still enjoy reading about retro video games and other random stuff on this website. I loved the fact that this website feels more mature and down to earth many times, however may be some actually childish at certain times as long the mods have to fight to keep things under control.

P.S. Mr.Smith, your guts is STILL mine! As a orange werewolf, I should rip out your guts the most painful way that you'll ever imagine! I guarantee this will happen one day! I should eat it like a king.

have i contributed to this already? in any case, my name's John, my very first ever VG console was a first edition Genny,
which my parents had bought me for X-Mas 1989 at TOYS-R-US, $189.99, i still have the newspaper flyer insert, even.

i had run-ins with the NINTENDO NES in the late-80's beforehand, -thanks to some of my nephews on my mom's side-
but the SEGA GENESIS was in fact the very first VGC i ever owned, and will always rank No.1 in my home's VGC pecking order,
head and shoulders over even my copy of the rarefied, almighty SNK NEO GEO AES.

my Genny is, in fact, the only VGC i've had continuously set up and ready for use in whatever home video arrangement was available to me, all throughout the last couple decades without fail.
from late 1989 to present day, from my mother's 27 in. RCA monitor in 1989, with on board amps to drive her pair of stereo speaker cabinets,
to my own full-fledged A/V Hi-Fi system i have it attached to to this very day, just about the very best way to enjoy the VGC of their childhood that anyone could ever realistically hope for.

all in all, even though the GENESIS has HERZOG ZWEI, strong enough on it's own in my personal book to put the console at the very top of the pops,
in all honesty i have far too many favorites for just about every VGC i own too feel comfortable about playing favorites.
all the same, if put to the wall, i'll vouch for the Genny and HZ every time without hesitation. that console, and that game most specifically, never fails
to be my perfect go-to for a quick pick-up-and-play, any time, any day of the week...

I didn't even notice a thread was here for introductions before, so I'll post now since I'm new (as a poster, not as a lurker >>)

Anyways, I was born in 87 and my first experience with gaming consoles was the best buy playing the display snes and genesis. The SNES had some mario game, the genesis had sonic 3. I found mario very boring, sonic was crack to me, and in 94 I got a model 2 genesis and Sonic 3 for Christmas.

I had no clue this would send me down a life-long journey of collecting hardware, games, messing with electronics and spending way, way too much money on it all. I doubt my parents knew either, but hey, there are worse addictions.

Aside from gaming I have other hobbies I'm very vested in, including painting, art in general, and woodworking. Oddly enough painting was my first degree, and now I'm working on getting an A+ certification to work on computers at a higher level.

I've lurked these boards forever, and have been a long time member of the website SegaFans, and look forward to being part of a gaming community again.

We need more creative minds on the forums. My favourite thread is the one in which people post their creative work here:
    http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthr...-Creative-work

Wood working is another passtime I dabble in during the summer months. Hopefully we'll get to see you feature some of your work here.

Anyways welcome aboard! Glad to make your acquaintance.

Hello. New to the site and figured I'd introduce myself. My name is Johnathan and I currently live in Spruce Grove, AB. I have around 550 games and many different systems. I mainly collect the consoles but do have a couple handhelds. I have a nice little Zelda collection and have approx 9 games left to add to it.

CompTIA, I assume? I've been attempting to watch through an on-line series of videos in order to prepare to take the test soon-ish, but my programming assignments have eaten away pretty much all my free time this semester. Are you going for Network and Security certifications, too?

Hello, Sega-16. My name is Michael. I live in The Netherlands and have dabbled in and out of Mega Drive/Genesis collecting. Recently, I got back into it again and also started a YouTube channel by the same name as my username on this forum, where I make video reviews of any game I feel like talking about (mostly retro as implied by the name). The site has already been a great source of information for me and I hope it continues to be, so thanks a lot for that!

    Hi I'm MrNonagon
I'm from the United States, the western half
I got into Sega stuff a little late I'm afraid, In the early 2000s I was playing a model 2 Genesis at a friends house and was simply entranced by the Sega start up sound.
A couple years later I saw a Sega Saturn with cables and games for $5 at a yard sale, needless to say I was hooked.
I have since mod chipped it and have played plenty of great games I otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford.
I just recently got a Model 1 VA3 Genesis and a Model 1 Sega CD with the Sony transport for a song, of course the genesis needs new headphone audio output caps, and the Sega CD doesn't work at all(bad fuse and numerous bad caps)
So after utilizing so many of this boards great repair threads in my Sega adventures I decided to finally join it and contribute to a great community

Everytime I see someone new post in this thread, I always wonder how they found this web site? In the old days, it was simple as just doing a search on a game and discovering an article or forum post. These days, I wouldn't be surprised if social media is another avenue in which people discover this site. Anyways, welcome aboard the SEGA-16 choo choo train!

Back in 2009 I was 16, had a ton of free time on my hands, and needed an outlet where others talked about old consoles that I could ask questions and learn from. Now I'm just here to give information I have amassed, and learn even more. Good to see the board is still kickin'.

Genesis is probably my favorite console that I have been playing since its release. Grateful for this forum to read all of your input and see this thing still being enjoyed all of these years later.

Recently hooked my Genesis 2 up to a PVM and am loving the graphical step-up.

My favorite non-sports game for the Genesis is Death Duel.

Hello, I'm Zatch. Pretty much my whole life Sega consoles have been absent. I've known about the Genesis and Dreamcast, but never owned any of them. It wasn't until a few years ago that I got a Model 1 Sega Genesis, and boy have I been missing out! So I guess my new-found interest in Sega consoles is what I don't know about them. I honestly don't remember how I came across this website. I've been a lurker for a while. Currently my favorite Genesis game is Gunstar Heroes.

Welcome, I haven't even played Gunstar Heroes yet and I had a Genesis since 92.
