I'm me. A pessimist. Highly cynical. Tell it like it is. Not a sugarcoater. Pure retrogamer, modern sucks. Don't collect, been there, done that. Only emulation for me these days. Very boring, nobody special.

    Hi.

I've posted on here ages ago. But I don't think I have ever put anything in the "Introduce Yourself" thread. I really like this site. It has done excellent work on the SEGA 16-bit era.

Anyways, about me. I'm a 29 year old male in the Dallas Texas area. I collect all SEGA products. I'm working on a series called Ages of SEGA, which explores the SG-1000 and possibly beyond at a later point. It's not produced well. However, it is mainly for me to explore the SG-1000. The ultimate goal was to build a Game Gear fan site. And the SG-1000 is a bit of a practice run. I started with the Game Gear and continued with SEGA through the Dreamcast and into the third-party arena.

Aside from SEGA, I am an avid Blizzard gamer. I love macintosh computers. I collect some comics. All in all, I enjoy almost all aspects of pop culture. Other than that, I am just a working stiff/family guy.

They say that everything is bigger in Texas. I've been there, for some reason there needs to be huge spaces between buildings and hotels with nothing around within walking distance.

I will also take this time to complain that there are no waving smilies.

I'm a dude who makes some music covers on the Mega Drive, Famicom, and PC Engine, and has a small collection of games. I also have a YouTube channel that I sometimes post reviews on when I get a chance. So, hi.

I've always considered myself a "Sega Fanboy". In the past, I've written some Passionate/idiotic stuff on Prodigy Bulletin Boards on topics dealing with SNES vs Genesis, I owned both consoles, but for some reason, back then, I was very Hostile towards Nintendo.

I have since then gained control over my emotions and learned the ability to think before sharing my words. so don't worry, it's a lot less likely I'll be spewing out thoughtless banter filled with passion and nothing else.

I have strong interested for learning how to recap and refurbish consoles. although I lack the education I am filled with passion

I chose the Moniker BiggestCowardAlive, it's a great exaggeration of what I consider the worst of my personal flaws. There are people out there, far more cowardly than I am.

i might not be quite so much of a cultish, extremist SEGA fanboy as some, but my very first VG console was a first run, ALTERED BEAST-pack-in Genny
bought by my parents from TOYS-R-US for $189 around X-Mas 1989.

i was around the ripe old age of eight, and the only salient memories of VG experience i recall having beforehand
were standing in as third party to a few rounds of SMB 1 & 2 play on my Aunt's kids' NES,
and an all-but-unrelated nephew, on my grandma's side, playing "LADY BUG" on his COLECO VISION.

further, to this day, despite ownership of over a dozen VGCs with multiple favorite titles for almost each and every one of them,
    the are two MD/Genny titles that continue to stand above them all, dominating my personal all time top five;

Hey guys, FullHitPoints here. I'm one of the developers behind MajiKana, a game that attempts to mimic the look and feel of the SEGA Genesis. Even better, we've agreed to allow Super Fighter Team to make a port of the game for the console itself! Have a look for yourself:

Other than that, I grew up playing consoles like the Genesis and the NES. I still have, and play on, my own Genesis regularly. I look forward to getting acquainted with you guys!

    Hello all.

I only had a master system in my youth but I've recently picked up a megadrive and enjoying it so far. Nothing beats a bit of sonic and a few beers in the evening. Anyway thanks for letting me join and see you all in the forums.

Hey everyone, just join but I've been a lurker for quite some time. I just finished something this past week and figured this forum might appreciate it. I plan on doing a full write up soon.

What's up?! I'm a Swede who loves retro gaming in general (my playing skills suck, but I still love it).

Joined the forum to learn as much Sega related stuff as possible. Have a couple of tech-related questions that I'll be asking as soon as I can post new threads.

    Hello polychromatic multidimensional creatures!

I'm a coding cat, mostly harmless.

I arrived very late to the Genesis (last year) but was a big fan of its computer "remote cousin" (they share a CPU in common) the Amiga which I still own and have (re) started coding on last year. I have plans to start coding a few things on the MegaDrive, Master System and Saturn but not in the short term (Amiga first) but I like to peruse their hardware specs and developer documentation in the meantime.

Looking forward having productive chats with the various creatures which roam these lands!

Hi all! I'm trying to figure out what is the best way to describe myself. Well lets start with by saying that I am in the PR business. I love retro gaming mainly the Sega Genesis. I personally think it is my favorite console along side the playstaion console. I hope to enjoy chatting and learn from you guys more about retro gaming.

Hello, I'm Eep386. I'm that weird-arse from deviantart (Eep-386) that likes to pretend he knows how to solder stuff. All kidding aside, I've been smitten with retro computers and game consoles ever since my family owned a Tandy 1000 HX and Atari 2600 when I was a kid. The Genesis has been a faithful servant since my family got ours way back on Christmas of 1991 (a VA6 Model I! loved that thing) and Genesis systems continue to be our mainstay gaming console well into 2016/2017. (Sadly I no longer have that VA6... it got thrown out years ago when the controller ports went bad. That was well before I knew how to use a soldering gun.)

    My current Genesis systems are:

    1. VA2.3 Model II (main system, fitted with CXA1145M encoder and BA3404 YM2612 FM pre-amplifier, looks and sounds really good. Occasionally hooked up to a Model II Sega CD - I love the BIOS tune on it - and a 32X.)
    2. VA6.5 Model I (has HD68HC000 and Z84C00 CMOS CPUs, used for recordings because it has a headphone jack)
    3. VA2 Model II (former main system, was the guinea pig for my CXA1145M modifications. Currently set aside till I figure out how to undo a costly mistake I made experimenting with the FM pre-amplifier)
    4. VA3 Model I (in pieces, set aside for a YouTube member whose own VA3 bit the dust)
    5. JVC X'eye (has a bad CD door sensor but otherwise works very well, it assumes the door is always closed so I can still play Sega CD games)
    6. Sega Nomad (in storage somewhere)

While the VA6 Model I was my family's first Genesis, the first Genesis I owned personally was a VA1 Model II. It had the Samsung KA2195 encoder and looked and sounded absolutely awful, but I nonetheless was a proud lad for owning my very own Genesis back in the day! And yes, I've... killed many Model II's trying to "improve" them. I feel really bad about it.

Anyway, I hope to learn as much as I can about my favorite platform, and maybe help some others out in some capacity!
