Im not a fan of the motion controls Nintendo forced on us for the Wii and its good to see people are rejecting the 3DS because its another stupid gimmick (3D) Ninetndo are pushing and people arent buying into it.

As a day 1 adopter, I really want this system to gain a foothold. This wouldn't be a problem if the games we were shown were available NOW, if not on launch day. Ocarina of Time would have been a moderate system-seller at least. That game should have been a launch title. As of right now, we have no Mario titles, no Kid Icarus, no Luigi's Mansion, and no StarFox (there's no reason why that last one couldn't have been a launch title as well).

Plus, MGS 3DS is delayed, and Mega Man Legends has been cancelled.

I actually really like the 3DS. It's a great little system with some commendable out-of-the-box features. Problem is, all it's doing right now is playing my DS titles really well. There's good software coming, but the delay is killing this system. Nintendo has some major damage control to do between now and this holiday season.

Sorry for the double post, but I just read something interesting. Am I mad that I paid $80 more than anyone else buying the system after the price drop? FUCK NO!!!

C'mon Guntz, with the length of development these days it will be years before anyone catches up. If they're not working on the titles now, they're not going to happen period. This is a flash in the pan style console after all, I'd be surprised if they are still releasing ANY titles in two years. Nintendo won't want to compete with their own Wii U at that point.

the reason I did NOT buy the 3ds was because of the 3d without glasses who knows what weird stuff it could do to your eyes...I once tried the 3ds and it gave me awful eye strain and I know someone who got a headache from it.why do you need this weird 3d technology like those shutter glasses having something turn of and on your eye that fast = NO GOOD I even wounder if the red cyan could be bad because after I wear the red cyan glasses for a few minutes my eyes start adjusting to the glasses and then by covering one eye both eye displays the colors slightly different for a little while.

I wonder if the new price tag would have reflected what they would have sold the system at, had it been sold at a loss.
If you believe that you're a sucker. If you don't think they where making money on Wii hardware day 1 you're insane. Nintendo has always sold hardware at a profit. They're one of the only companies who has fundementally believed hardware profit matters. Thats why they always redesign there handhelds to be cheaper and cheaper. The reason the 3ds is dropping in price is because its game library sucks.

It's almost tempting, just to give me an opportunity to play Ocarina of Time, but hey, I've gone 13 years without playing it. Why change that now?

    Wait, what?

And for those of you who are thinking that Nintendo is selling the console at a loss now, you are dead wrong. It costs $109 to make a 3DS.

I believe that. Are you calling me a sucker too? I believe that marketing and R & D cost money. I also believe that Nintendo sells consoles initially at a loss to promote software sales.

Where exactly did you pull that number from?

Agreed. I was very interested in Mega Man Legends 3, but now nothing really stands out for me. The DS had a weak launch too, but at this point in its life there were at least some games showing in previews that looked quite interesting.

I think this means Nintendo's DS is out of steam. It can't compete with the $1 gaming found on phones these days. The 3D gimmick didn't add anything substantial to the DS line, just to its price tag.

I think Nintendo could be in real trouble. Handheld gaming is moving to phones, and the Wii's novelty finally seems to be wearing off. The Wii U looks ridiculous quite frankly. They've weathered dry spells before, but they always had the handheld market cornered. That is no longer true, thanks to Apple, and now Google/Android.

Dropping to £129.99 here and supposedly £99.99 by Xmas, anyone that purchased at full price gets 20 premium titles free.

According to the Brit papers they're have been masses of complaints about it causing headaches and nausea, I don't think people are bothering to properly adjust the fader for comfort and are leaving it on full.
