Everdrive MD - no ROM is starting

Got my Everdrive MD today.

I could format the card and flash the ROM to the card but no single ROM I tried worked....
I have OS 23 and Firmware 13 and use a PAL MD2.
The ROMS were *.gen with [!] in filename.

The screen just stayed black or it showed a red screen and did not move on.
I tried changing every single option, nothing helped.

Any suggestions what else to try?

edit: also it does not boot every time after I used power off and power on of the MD2. Do I have a broken device?

edit2: now I can't boot it one single time...omfg broke on the first day...I already hold A+B+C on power on but nothing helped...sorry I have to say it but it is really a crappy device. I will surely give it back and never buy an everdrive again...just a piece of crap for 91,-$...

has anyone the e-mail of this ukranian guy who built that?

How can you say it's a crappy device...so everything that breaks or is DOA is crappy?

No, I can't get to the main menu. Nothing happens now when I start my console.

DOA means Dead on Arrival, it's pretty common with electronical devices.
Actually, as a general rule most of the time either it's broken at start, or will last a very long time.
It happens with everything, even Iphones to make an example. I understand you may be angry but there's a fix for everything.

Sure I was angry at first but Igor gave me his address to send it in for repair or replacement and now I am calmed down.

dude, he PAYED for this device and got it later just to see it not work, ITS PERFECTLY NORMAL TO BE PISSED towards something you have payed a lot just so it wouldn't work when you got it.

ameisenmann, the best thing to do is going to there support forum, tell them the problem and if whatever they say doesn't help you, just ask for an exchange. There good people.

'Cause I first saw your post on the "Genesis Does" forum. Then I ended up here.
I got an Everdrive MD and used the official forum a few times for support...

1)If you were not just a stupid newbie, you would be able to do your claims at the right place. "Genesis Does" is not a support forum, to begin with.
2)Even with no access for writing at the official forum, if you have read some threads there you would know how nice KRIKzz is. No one, never did such an honest and full-of-love support job like he does.
3)I can post and reply whatever I want, respecting Sega-16 rules... So I can answer to a lazy newbie like you as you deserve.

He can be pissed as much as he wants, but he does not have the right to bust balls across the whole board without a previous basic search and reading.
Finally, if it is a consumer problem, he should contact the seller and/or manufacturer. And wait if the support service/system/mechanism makes he wait. If he does not want to wait, search, read... Why should Sega-16.com community be concerned about it?

Sega-16 is first and foremost a very nice forum, and we should not make a big deal out of this. He already changed his tone, no reason to keep attacking him. Peace!

Contact krikzz directly. He has responded to some of my questions within a few hours. Excellent support for my 2 everdrives I own

Step 1:rename .gen to .bin
Step 2:If step 1 does not work try removing any special characters such as:

[!]

if all else fails keeps asking.Also if it relay does not work when you got it then it could the a bad shipping handling such as the box got drooped or maybe even someone could be shipping a big magnet and it somehow damaged because of the magnet.

Overreact is acceptable. But IMO this: "this ukranian guy who built that?" is not acceptable.
Why did he talk about the nationality of the guy? It smells, looks and feels like some kind of prejudice and, so, you can't excuse him just because the changed his tone.
I'll never endorse such kind of "overreaction".
