getting one of those FAMICOM DISK SYSTEMs back in working order can be quite the pain though, as i've heard.

one of the main issues revolves around finding a suitable equivalent replacement for it's main drive belt.

if you can pull that off, you are still in for a real crap shoot hunting for disks that can still yield a successful complete data load.

magnetic data storage media can be SUCH a PiTA...

Luckily so far, my Disk System is still working. I have a Sharp Twin Famicom. Apparently, You can buy replacement belts on eBay for around $10 if they break, the hardest part is taking it apart and putting it back together again.
