Speaking of, has LJN ever made a good game?
I don't know, but "Bill & Ted's Excellent Video Game Adventure" on the NES was okay. Nothing great though, that's for sure, but I thought it was half decent probably because I played it at such a young age. You have to find "Historical Artifacts" that are completely hidden from view. You have to randomly jump onto fences and stuff to find them, which could possibly drive some people crazy. For the record, I've never beaten it, it's difficult and frustrating, but there are definitely worse games out there.![]()
So that's a no then.
LJN was one of Acclaim's publishing labels, along with Flying Edge and Arena Entertainment. Prior to the mid-to-late 1990's, Acclaim and its subsidiaries were a publishing company; development of their games was outsourced to several U.S and European companies, some of which they ended up buying (Sculptured Software, Probe).
Well, I don´t even consider this an average game...this is the megadrive/genesis we´re talking....after playing the Sor games or turtles this is so much inferior, even the first Sor game is so much better in graphics playability and sound, and they are years apart!
Sometimes games mags were wrong but they trashed this game at the time for good reason IMO.
I think you and Games Magazines are wrong. Punisher is very different from SOR series or TMHT. Typically underrated.
I think it is hard to get some obvious opinions about this game because it is expensive, rare and misknown.
It is difficult to get a real version to play it in good condition with a friend (not alone with emulator in easy mode).
True Lies is great, but that isn't really LJN, is it?
Argh, why doesn't anyone ever listen to my commentary on Acclaim?
All complaints about their games' quality should be fielded to the devs they outsourced the work to, most of which don't exist anymore that is...
A Nightmare on Elm Street --> Good LJN game I think Rare actually made it.
