PS2 is great for those who wish to, say, pick up the last game KID ever made, or collections of stuff already elsewhere (such as Taito Legends), but such collections are only valid for players like myself exploring a new field; for those who've already played all the Samurai Shodowns/pick-your-port they're quite worthless. Yeah, it has some RPGs. And the Xbox has Morrowind. And that's it.
Gamecube also has Chaos Field Expanded. Not an exclusive, I know, but I'd rather play it on the GC controller than the DC's. And of course F-Zero GX, the best racing game since Wipeout appeared on the Saturn. The always discerning Loggo beat me to it, but it deserves a seconding.
    The vinyl-black model looks best.
Just don't go near that Donkey Kong Jungle Beat stuff.

edit = add Alien Hominid (yes it's on those other systems. Which raises the question, why don't the Xbox and PS2 get some of their own games?)
Yuji Naka should run you over in his Ferrari.

Only in Japan as far as I know, so in the US it's still Gamecube exclusive.

I bought a black GC when they were $40. I put a mod-chip in it so I could run homebrew... the GC had a pretty good scene, but much of that has moved to the Wii now. I have more GC games (legally purchased in stores... mostly from the discount rack at WalMart) than PS2 games.

I currently own 7 Gamecubes, some are backup units and some are for playing Gamecube in different parts of the house.

I saw a silver gamecube console only at my local thrift store for $10. My roommate has a Wii which plays GC games so I didn't see the need for it.

What's funny is that the games Yuji Naka made that were on the PS2 and Xbox were developed with the Gamecube as the Lead Platform if I remember correctly.

Personally I really enjoyed the run that the Gamecube had. It was the only system I owned last generation, and even though it didn't have nearly as many exclusives as the PS2, and no online play like the Xbox did, it had plenty of titles to keep me relatively interested.

The controller definitely is pretty funny looking, but I think that's one of the most comfortable controller's I've used. The only time I've ever had a problem with the button layout was with Capcom Vs. SNK 2 EO, but I was able to get around that very easily with an SNES and Genesis controller adapter, although with that said the d-pad really does suck. But then again, the only time I've ever really had to use it was for selecting visors in Metroid Prime.

My personal favourite Gamecube titles (not necessarily exclusives):
    Metroid Prime
    Killer 7
    Resident Evil 4
    Super Smash Brothers Melee
    Viewtiful Joe
    Legend of Zelda Wind Waker
Legend Of Zelda Four Swords Adventure (play this with a friend)
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (probably the best horror themed game ever)
Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door
    F-Zero GX

Was Outrun2 done by Yuji Naka? Last I heard that was AM2 and Yu Suzuki for the Arcade and Sumo Digital for the Xbox port. What does Yuji Naka have to do with that?

I heard you can network Gamecubes into a supercomputer. Let's see the PS2 do that!

*anticipates someone to bring up that news story of Sadam Hussein importing thousands of PS2s to make supercomputers*

Sounds like you've only played Super Paper Mario. Paper Mario and The Thousand Year Door are both proper JRPGs just like Super Mario RPG, only they have (to me) a more pleasing visual style and experiment with what was even at SMRPG's release a very tired genre, and are much more interesting as a result.

The GCN had online play although it was extremely minimal and barely utilized.
