    Default Bio-Hazard Battle

One of the more unique shmup concepts was the use of insects as ships. Though Insector-X tried to pull it off, it was Sega's own Biohazard Battle that came the closest to conveying the coolness of using a raging hornet as your craft. Sound weird? It should, as this is one weird game. Read our full review for all the details.

This is a good game. Sega has made a few other shooters themselves, though. Like Arrow Flash.

This game is called CRYING in Japan. Japan is weird.

Wasn't Arrow Flash developed by Renovation/Telenet Japan?

Good review, and a seemingly good game. The first level where you're descending is pretty dull, and the following stage is very frustrating so I've never bothered to finish the game.. but now I will. It's gonna be more rewarding than Arrow Fart, I'm sure.

Emeny Designs are A+ in Biohazzard Battle, but I hate the slowdowns later in the game.

Yeah this is a good shmup. Just hate the music, I dunno it seems more 'ad-libish' than other genesis games.

I received it as a Christmas gift back in '92 or '93, and I was upset. Not really being in touch with my shmup self back then, I was not well receptive to it. I played it enough to justify the purchase but then sold it.

Now I wish I kept it. Dammit.

It does start out a bit dull, but it builds up and gets much better. It's really quite unique in the music department, never heard anything quite like it. In fact I'd say the music is probably my favorite part of it. I also happen to like the basic shooter approach of the gameplay. I wouldn't be so critical of the weapon system either. Sure the homing laser is a bit overpowered(and boring to use), but there are other worthwhile weapons to use(particularly the yellow beam). Anyway, I give it my recommendation.

I loved this game as a kid, and I still occasionaly pick it up and play it. I am glad you mentioned the music as it was indeed very creepy indeed.

Wow! I just played through the first five stages in Practice mode. I'm really impressed with this one. It's a perfect 10 in my book. Some soundtracks manage to be great, but the soundtrack in this title transcends that: it is simply COOL!.

Anyone know what the lowest difficulty is to get to the last level?
