Default Video Games you regret admitting you hate

Time to throw another log on the fire me thinks...

for now I have just one game that fits this thread, Metroid Prime. I tried to like it, I really did, but the game wanted to play like a standard FPS and the controls didn't allow that. It was far too difficult for me to control MP well enough to even beat the first boss.

Contra(NES) - I don't know why, to my knowledge I'm the only person that hates it. Don't get me wrong, I love Run N Guns, like Gunstar Heroes, Metal Slug, Mega Man, Journey to Silius, Alien Soldier, etc.

But I just can't get into Contra. It's something I'll never be able to explain.

Twilight Princess. I've tried playing this twice now. I just can't get into it. It feels too different thematically from the earlier titles. Maybe I've never gotten far enough.

I dont regret hating any game. Wouldnt make sense to regret something you hate. But yeah contra sucks. dont regret that at all.

I'm Starmist, nice to meet you.
For explanation how about the massive flicker and the fact that during the 2nd-person stages the white bullets almost match the colour of the background?
I too regret hating no games. It's rather fun.

I second Twilight Princess. Its a beautiful game, I just didn't like the gameplay (part of it is my dislike for Wiimote waving around). I gave up on the first fishing quest, later I tried again and stopped soon after turning into a wolf.

I avoided this game for many years because I hate FPS's but I finally played it last year and I was surprised how much I liked it. The platform jumping was fustrating but it was still a fun game for me and I enjoyed hunting for all the hidden items. The controls took me a while to get used to but I was eventually able to tolerate them. This was one of the most fun games I played and but I wasnt able to beat the last boss as he was too hard for me.

Video Games you regret admitting you hate

For me these type of games will fall into two categories:
    1. Games I know are good but I natrually suck at them. For these games I just forced my brain to understand how to play them so I no longer have to regret hating them. I still do hate what they put me thru, but I don't hate the game anymore so I don't have to regret admitting to hate them.

    2. Games that I'm supposed to like for a given system(ones that EVERYONE LIKES), yet I just can't see the what the big deal is. These games I cannot stop hating so I regret admitting to hating them as it goes against the majority, hurting my cred on a forum and making many people hate me. These games I also don't have to regret admitting to hating since I no longer do it for the reasons I just stated.

Ironically people tend to bitch that Zelda games are too similar.

Call me boring, but I'd rather play 20 very similar iterations of something I really enjoy than see a franchise throw a bunch of randomness at a wall and see what sticks. (I'm looking at you Sonic the were-hedgehog/friend of earthlings/Arabian adventurer/knight-dueler.)

People had a tough time in my thread admitting they could feel awkward about liking a game. I guess I feel the same way here. When I like something I might comment on it. When I hate something I'll rant until everyone agrees with me or my brain registers the dead silence around me.

That being said StarCraft 2 online fundamentally bothers me. It's an awesome game for sure, but dealing with single-trick ponies that GG after their first push fails is stupid. In order to be "pro" you lose all the fun and focus on fast task switching and some commentators strategy. Sports have nothing to do with fun when going pro.
