Pier Solar and the Great Architects as well. But Star Odyssey is a very very close second. If it weren't for its weird leveling system, I'd even put it as my number one.

Shenmue is tough to include in the RPG genre. So I'd have to say it's a tie between Skies of Arcadia and Grandia 2.
