So, Nintendo is releasing a clip-on cradel for the 3DS which adds a right thumbstick.
Yeah, I don't think I'm buying a 3DS until Nintendo rolls a few heads on both sides of the pacific.
Yeah, that one really struck me as weird. Having that is just gonna cause software compatibility problems, until the 3DS Lite has the right stick and the original is no longer produced. I think it's obvious why Sony never did this with the PSP. Unfortunately, Nintendo wasn't noticing...
I wonder how well my eyes would hold up using the stereoscopic 3D. I do alright with old red/blue 3D glasses, but sounds like the 3DS puts a different kind of work load on your eyes. How have you early adopters been handling the 3D?
If you've ever gonna and scene any current movies in 3d at threaters that should be a good bases. If that hurts your eyes so will this. The issue with glasses free 3d on a handheld is you move while you play. You cant move the screen and get the 3d effect. So if you're moving the system a lot in 3d mode it will give you serious eye strain and headacks. If you can sit still its great.
Huh?
Anyway, if you haven't observed it yet, RETRO sells. Nintendo isn't a Johnny Come Lately and they wouldn't keep the recipe the same if it was not appealing towards customers. This is a long trend many companies have jumped on. Ford, Chevrolet, Pepsi, etc..,
Personally I believe anyone who wrongly criticizes Ocarina of Time 3D either hasn't played it much more then the demo provides or has a dislike towards Nintendo. Should a remake of a thirteen year old game be the pinnacle of a new system? Definitely not! Even so, it is the best version of OOT to hit any console. The refinements are obvious and the dual screen provides an ease of functionality. One doesn't have to like the game but can acknowledge its strengths and improvements.
The price drop is helping the 3DS and I'm certain sales will go through the roof once we start seeing various Mario titles released during the fall and holiday seasons.
If you got shot in the leg and were putting most of your weight on it, you would probably fall down (depending on the caliber of the gun and exactly where you got shot in the leg). If the wound was bad enough, you might faint from shock or blood loss. Many people never move after being shot, not even realizing they've been shot until they notice the wound (which sometimes even has to be pointed out by someone else!).
My whole point is that bullets don't impart enough force on the body to move it in any significant fashion. The point of most bullets is to penetrate the body and do internal damage which kills or disables the target. If most of the force was expended on the surface, it wouldn't be fatal (which is exactly how 'bullet-proof' vests work).
But yes, I agree that if your character is being shot with a machine gun, to be able to just stand there and shoot back isn't realistic. I was more concerned you were referring to 'Hollywood' style shots were a person hit by a bullet flies back several feet.![]()
Oh yeah, no, I was just figuring that most people when shot by anything other than an M16 would at least hit the ground or be too disoriented to respond. That said, there are plenty of guns that will blow big huge holes in a person and I doubt they will stand around dumb founded at that point. Basically, First Person Shooters play like paint ball, except in paint ball if you get shot you already lost and in an FPS you can still pull that headshot and wait for the shield to recover. I don't like it!
Looks pretty ugly. The release of a second stick makes me think Nintendo's lukewarm on releasing an update of the system soon (which honestly, if you're going to make dual-stick games, they should release a new system). I think it's their way of saying "we hope the 3DS can make a comeback, but we're not going to totally invest in a redesign until business turns around.
Still enjoying mine. And to answer Guntz, I haven't had one headache after playing the 3DS, and I almost never play it without 3D turned on. I have good vision though, and I've never had a problem with other forms of 3D.
Now substitute Nintendo with a number of other, highly profitable companies.(not that Nintendo didn't f*ck up things in other ways that could have ruined them if they hadn't gotten lucky
)
And hey, evaluating what games to remake can be tricky too . . . not all old games that were popular will apply to the current market. (otherwise we'd probably see a lot more remakes of other games, 2D or 3D, but certain genres don't sell nearly as well as they used to -as much as I'd love remakes or re-imaginings of classic 90s flight/space sims or adventure games, not that I'm not happy with the originals)
