Default Best way to determine a game's value?

I know there is eBay, Amazon and the videogame price charts website. I look at all those and completed listings on ebay. I go by these prices and still some people think my prices are too high in some cases. So I'm just wondering what's the best way, in your opinion, to determine a game's value? Are there any other good pricing sites?

If people are willing to buy it, then the price is right.

If you're selling on forums like these, the best thing to do is price stuff based on auction prices instead of buy-it-now prices. If you want the most money for your stuff though, and aren't in too much of a rush, list it on Ebay as a buy-it-now auction at a premium. You may have to sit on it for a while but you're likely to get the most $ that way.

I'd like to have access to these Ebay archive sites but unforunately they charge you. I think I may have seen some site that tracks game prices based on auctions but I forgot the price.

I assume that you're deducting 15-20% from your Ebay and Amazon reference prices? Those sites take a percentage, after all, so prices on message boards should be at least somewhat lower than Ebay prices. Most of those price charts are super-inflated, by the way -- almost everything at Rarityguide.com is at least double what it should be, and like many guides, they conflate rarity with high demand.

The other idea, of course, is that one doesn't charge one's fellow community members premium prices (except maybe on premium items), and hopefully they do the same in return. It's a little different if you're a professional reseller, but then again, a lot of people avoid buying from resellers since their prices often tend to be higher than average.

Go to ebay and then find the cheapest one. Then take 15% off that. Thats the value of your game

If you're selling anything on a forum however it needs to be about 30% cheaper than the lowest ebay listing.

I go by completed listings, give or take $5-10.

This. I don't shop on forums to pay eBay prices, I go to try and get a deal or two. Some call it the "Forum Discount".
