I like what Smii did there. We should all post a pic of our sealed games.

Well that would just make me feel sad because I don't have any.

I do have a sealed copy of Blue Marlin for the NES though! That's worth a peso or two! Literally.

Don't worry. I plan to open every single one of my sealed games (unless they be variants).

I bought a sealed copy of Eye of the Beholder on Sega CD today, and immediately opened it up.

Bless you both for keeping those abominations sealed.

As am I, especially as I already have one to play so could (probably) resist opening the sealed.

I like Blue Marlin. I'd even play it once in a while could I figure out how.

@OP = Did this now properly derailed thread smack to anyone else of a seller fishing for BIN prices? It strongly gave me the same impression I got from that one about sealed PAL 32X Darxide, Primal Rage, and T-Mek, ie that it wasn't some prospective buyer but in fact a prospective seller asking for dollar amounts. And lo and behold what's on Ebay now (been up a few days at least): a lot of sealed PAL 32X Darxide, Primal Rage, and T-Mek.

The only sealed Genesis game I have ever owned was Pitfall. I found it in a Goodwill sealed. I bought it and opened it in my car in front of the store

With regard to the secondary topic of genuine factory sealed games, my only comment to the OP is that if you know the guy who sold them to you sold you a few fake ones (i.e. the missing hang tabs), chances are everything he sells is fake. Why would he even both tracking down and buying the small amount of genuine factory sealed games out there to resell them when he is able and willing to sell fakes? The argument people here are presenting is pretty much that in a nutshell.

I understand their argument. However, it's insufficient. The hang-tabs were cut off on two of the games. Why someone would do that to factory sealed games, I don't know, but that doesn't mean it's never happened. (I'm returning those games). It would be unethical of me to return the games because a few people claim he has sold resealed games in the past. (Other's have mentioned they've received games from him and verified that they were authentic). Without PROOF of SOME KIND I'm not prepared to label anyone a liar and a thief.

Like I mentioned, the seals are the same as I've seen elsewhere, and the plastic feels identical as another factory sealed game I received from another member, who hasn't been tarred by allegations of wrongdoing on here.

Sorry, while others here are happy to have a group-hug-of-ignorance, I need more...

And I have over 500 factory sealed games, so don't presume to know your audience before walking among us.
Just quoting this because I get the feeling that it's right on the money, and the OP either missed or chose to ignore this post.

You don't need anything at all; it's your money, do as you like Personally, I never spend "real money" on eBay (and the definition of "real money" is different for everybody, but for me, it's over $100) because it's not the most reliable place in the world to buy expensive things. But that's just me.

    Definition of IGNORANCE
: the state or fact of being ignorant : lack of knowledge, education, or awareness.

Since you don't have enough knowledge to be sure about the authenticity of your sealed games and were not aware about who was the seller, well, looks like that you are very close to that definition.
After all, you keep ignoring what people said: we trust in our members. If you don't trust just keep spending your money with potentially fake products and don't bother about our opinion.

Wasn't RPGArcana the same guy that tried to sell a non HD Graphics Model 1 Genesis in an HD Graphics box with pictures showing the box and its contents to then go on and say it was brand new factory sealed and had never before been opened?

Honestly I think factory Sealed collecting is a bit dumb. Our memories are not that great to remember exactly how a factory sealed game like that looked years ago and it's very possible that some games might not even exist anymore in sealed form. In my honest opinion Sealed Game collecting only arose from the stupid Nintendo collectors who needed some reason to say their copy of a game that's a dime a dozen is worth more than someone elses copy of the exact same game.

Yes, I am ignorant of exactly what to look for in a factory sealed sega genesis game. That's why I came here... and ASKED THE QUESTION. lol. But guess what, no one here can give an answer. Instead, you all congratulate each other for it. "We're a community that trusts each other". Fine. That's great. I applaud you for that. But care to let anyone else on this secret knowledge you possess? Like I said from the start, it's a simple question...

But no, instead all you've done is pass judgement on a product you know nothing about simply due to the source of the product. (And I'll remind you again, others have spoken up in defense of this seller...) I've read through as many posts as I could find, and while most of the links are dead, from what I've been able to piece together all this animosity stems mostly from Dark Sols accusations, and a bad transaction from Rarebucky. The rest was simply conclusions made based on buying/selling history of the seller, and then making further accusations based on them... (He bought a CIB of a game, and a few weeks later he's selling a sealed copy of it, and from this you all assume that it's the same copy!? Talk about being guilty until proven innocent...) While I'm sure there's a lot more "evidence" you'd wish to point to in this matter, but it's all pretty much the same circumstantial non-sense.

All of this back and forth is tiresome for all of us. So, if someone isn't going to answer the question in a straight-forward, non-accusatory method, don't answer at all. In time, I plan on having the games grade by VGA. (Which, for the record, I thought they were... I didn't read close enough...) And will share the results with you, one way or the other. Which I hope will end this discussion. (But I doubt it...)

I'm not here to try and defend the guy, quite the opposite, I most certainly want to know if I was had. But I need proof, not accusation.

The worst thing about all of this is that it took this thread WAY off topic. It was just supposed to be a simple and fun thread where people could post their sealed game collections. Didn't seem like this site had a spot for that, so I thought I'd try and fill that void. Sorry for trying...

Last thing, about sealed game collecting in general being "stupid" or a "bit dumb". Seriously? Um, how is non-sealed game collecting any better than sealed game collecting? That's like arguing about whether collecting stamps is better than collecting coins... I'll let you in on a secret, ALL collecting is ultimately "stupid", and "dumb". You know why? Because by it's very nature it's completely useless! It's ONLY purpose is to give those who do it some sense of satisfaction. However ephemeral that satisfaction is, it's still real enough for them. I take it back, don't answer that question, pretend I didn't even ask it, because I'm sure all your answers will be just as enlightening as the answers you gave to the last question I asked...
