    Seems like Sega of Europe....

ditch that awful American style art in favor of anime look of the games. I never really paid much attention since during the Genesis days they tended to either use the same American drawn art or another non fitting art style. Damn we really got shafted in the states.

2 things I'd like to point out.

    1) Japanese cases are still better because jewel cases are best

    2) Euro cases are a soft cardboard and fall apart and get damaged super easy. They're also huge and a pain in the ass to display just like American cases.

    1. No shit but that wasn't the point of this thread
    2. There are 3 types of Euro cases, the ones you are talking about, the Genesis styled and the later DVD case styed.

That doesn't even have anything to do with the thread.

And yeah, I agree it seems like when companies would Americanize the box art on Japanese games they would end up looking like shit. All three of those covers are definitely better than their American counterparts.

    So Shiny...

That ivory essence that emanates from within the thick, transparency of the case; the bold type font that, side by side, displays "SEGA SATURN... SEGA SATURN... SEGA SATURN..."; oh what beauty. The mark of a planet that holds true to the power within each game; and the eclectic array of genres forming, both, a colorful salute to awesomeness and a warm welcome to anyone whose fortune graces one's being with the mere opportunity to play that which it contains; those are but a few things that maintain my conviction that U.S., NTSC, American Sega Saturn JEWEL cases are the most beautiful gaming items one could ever display side by side in one's gaming collection. No argument in this world will ever veer my disposition. Oh American Sega Saturn Jewel Cases, thy beauty is true and thy form is glorious and incomparable. Praise he who shall taketh good care of ye, for he shall forever be known as treasurer of all treasures, curator of crystal purity and emblem of fortune and joy.

I don't know ANY good games for the SATURN since I've been working a lot to build up my Sega Mega Drive collection, but once I finish, ho-ho, What action goodies await me on the 32-bit SEGA aisle .

That sounds like a prayer to the gods of Longbox cases. Don't think I didn't notice the row of Sega CD games above that as well.
I'm a big fan of them too, they seem like a perfect example of the ridiculous packaging of the 90s, like those HUGE cardboard boxes that CDs used to come in as well. But boy do they crack if you're not careful, almost all of mine are stored vertically and packed with foam or bubble wrap to prevent issues when grabbing them.

On topic though, Sega is giving Europe a lot of love presently as well, they seem to get a lot of the cooler special editions too. Shining Wisdom did still have a pretty anime themed cover back in the day in the US. But I like the penciled look of the PAL version a bit more.

That is indeed very beautiful. I don't collect Saturn games but that picture makes me wish I did.
