Actually in a strange twist of fate, after posting that message, I popped into cash convertors today, and they had about twice as many snes, compared to megadrive... and I think 8, out of the 9 MD games were fifa 95, the 9th being fifa international soccer...
But that's a strange anomaly...
Even the retro game shop here only has a handfull of nes and snes, and a bookcase full of MD... That place is amazing!

Most of the retro-game stores and flea markets I've been to in PA have a pretty small Super Nintendo stock, a big Genesis stock and an enormous NES stock.
