Sega Genesis forum at Atari Age

Yep, they started a Genesis forum over at AA. Is it intended to draw people from sites like Sega-16?

I collect Intellivision and Colecovision, and unfortunately, Atari Age has the main active internet forums for those two systems on its site. I hope it doesn't end up that way with Sega systems. Support Sega-16 at all costs to keep this from happening.

I can't understand the decision on this, seems a bit stupid. I cetainly won't be going to a troll ridden Atari forum to talk Sega.

I only recently got 'sucked in' to the sega-16 forums but have to say, I think sega-16.com has enough of a knowledge base and daily useractivity that the atari forum won't take over for at least another 3 to 4 months.

I don't understand why they did it... My inferior brain just can't find any good intention behind it.

I took a look at the threads and it feels like a very stupid idea. People discussing things like 6-button compatible games, Genesis's soundchip quality... Things that we have discussed here many many times and I'm pretty sure that we provided a large amount of valuable information about such subjects... Compatibility lists improved when compared to any other source, deeper hardware analysis, detailed user feedback, guides, links, videos... Why do you need to start this all over again and in a newbie level of knowledge?

I have no intention to support that forum, I just prefer to give any possible contribution here... If I had an account there, I would feel obligated to post all the links to the Sega-16 threads that already have everything discussed in a far superior way. And I would feel stupid doing that...

But as I'm pretty sure they will end up with lots of inconsistent information, countless biased opinions, tons of trolls' posts... I'll let it go straight to the hell.

No point for this thread. Sega-16 does not support bashings of other forums in this fashion, regardless of what they are like.
