I don't really understand the appeal of a series like Call of Duty. How many times can you really get excited about the same thing over and over? And funny how the latest CoD is always the Best Thing Ever, but nobody talks about the older ones at all anymore. The games are so disposable.

You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.

I played Modern Warfare 1 and enjoyed it, the others not so much... Huge feeling of Deja Vu, and I mean REALLY big Deja Vu.
But it's all about the multiplayer these days... Sigh...
MW2 had a terrible campaing, can't even call that a game. It was a semi interactive movie.

This extremely funny video actually makes a very good point.

I played a great deal of Battlefield 2 online on the PC. It was with a friend who had joined a clan of a bunch of Canadians. Nobody be fooled, these people know how to war! I was washed out after about a year.

I've never even got close to these games.
People think I'm a freak when I say I have PS3 and 360 and will never play them.

I don't think it's fair to lump all FPS's in the same category. Military ones have been done to death and get too much attention but it's still quite a varied genre. While not a pure FPS, Deus Ex HR is a GOTY contender. EYE: Divine Cybermancy is a cool game from this year and about as non-mainstream as you can find. I actually liked Duke Nukem Forever.

I personally don't care about most new releases & don't particularly care about modern FPS's. That said, I have both COD world at war & Black Ops for one reason: Nazi Zombies. Yes, it is repetitive...No, I'm not good at it, but dang, it's addictive!

Hahah, the only redeeming factor of COD Blops I have found was fighting Zombies as dead presidents. It's a blast, but I stink at it too.

    -edit-

Also, to Kamahl's video, we should remember that Capcom's internal policy is to make nothing but sequels.

MW for me is the abbreviation for Monster World and to this day no good reason has been given to change it.

Not sure why people bag on Macs with no provocation or reason; no one ever sees mine so I hardly think it's a fashion statement.

That said, I agree 100% on CoD and Madden. They weren't that interesting the first time around, and they're more than played out now. I don't refuse to play a good fps, but that genre is incredibly oversaturated. It's rare that I'm even curious to try one.

Right now, Uncharted 3 is my current gen game of choice. If I'm going to play a modern action game, I'm more likely to play a third person style game (I'm not sure why).

Heh, when I saw the commercial for CoDMW3 I said to my yonger brother: hey, the most overrated game of all time (ie MW2) just became the 2nd most overrated game of all time.

Not that I don't think they're fun games . . . and not that I don't like FPSs either, but that doesn't change the fact that's it's way overrated.

Like many newer games, the emphais has been put on online multiplayer features (albeit some better cases still have a great story/campaign mode with co-op support emphasized more than vs stuff)

As for Deja Vu . . . that's what I had when I saw the Wii Goldeneye game . . . no, not for the N64 game, but for Modern Warfare 2. (seriously, it looks a lot like MW2, at least in the overall graphical style)

Oh, cool, I haven't been keeping up with Egoraptor's stuff recently. (I think the last think I saw was Awesome Reach)

I wouldn't say my own statement on the subject had "no provocation or reason" though. Sorry if I didn't elaborate enough, but the truth is, no matter how much mac wants its OS to be conveyed as "user-friendly", they're light-years away from the stupid-easy interphase that is (actally, WAS) the PC. Now, Windows Vista and 7, those are just as useless imo. I personally need customizability in my own belongings (I paid an arm and a leg for these computerthingies, might as well actually, you know, be able to own them). These new Operating Systems nowadays are all banking on their marketing value (more like, marketing on Mac's OS marketing value), and give less and less practicality/functionality/customizability/(take-your-pick/make-one-up) with every new one. I know that's not just me, but I know I must make it my own statement; so there you go.

I'm thrilled that you're ruling for your own Mac, though; as it's been years since I've heard someone honestly speaking of Mac with such conviction. It's refreshing. I wouldn't at all mind some elaboration on your part, or a desktop picture or two.

P.S.> Don't get me wrong, I want to like Mac and it's OS as much as they want to shove it down my throat, but I just can't digest their marketing strategies (which very much resonates in their own product as "the computer for the computer-illiterate".) So, once again, it's refreshing to hear this from someone with conviction rather than a fresh dude in his early 20s trying to pass-up as cool and hip, or whatever these children call it nowadays.
