Does anyone own Battletoads in the Cardboard Box style?

I am looking for pics of this box, I have seen a variant cart and am trying to prove it had a cardboard box version.

Not the Battletoads Double Dragon, game I am looking for pics of the original, it may not even exist.

Here is a pic of a cardboard Battletoads Double Dragon if that is what you mean. If you are referring to a cardboard variant of the original Battletoads, I was not aware that it existed. If it does, I would also like to see a pic of one.

K-A rating? That's a Majesco rerelease, right? (EDIT: After noticing the way the Sega logo looked there, yup, that IS a Majesco rerelease)

I don't believe that "Battletoads" got more than one print run on the Genesis. Everyone pretty much ignored it and considered it shovelware when it came out on the Genesis in '93, and as you can see, Majesco only bothered to re-release Battletoads/Double Dragon (the only BT game they re-released).

But then why would they have gone through the trouble of making a second cart for the game?

One thing I would like to see is if one of the variants was made in Japan and the other assembled in the USA. Perhaps the batch assembled in one location just happened to get a different label than the other.

Maybe the Battletoads with the red label is a Canadian version. When I was a kid I remember the Battletoads on the cart not the writing.

B/W manuals don't always mean Cardboard boxes, so that doesn't confirm it but the fact that it has two carts and two manuals is the reason I made this thread

Wow, guess I'm eating my hat. Didn't know the game was re-released under the Red Stripe scheme. And it looks to be a 1995 release as well (Tradewest was bought out by Midway and became Williams Home Entertainment that year)

Now that you mention it, there seems to be a Williams re-release of Ms. Pac-Man. It's apparently the same as the original Tengen release, but it has some registration card (or something like that) from Williams.
