Default Got a new HDTV. Dreamcast Connection Question

So I got a new Plasma HDTV and for inputs it has 1 Composite, 1 Component, and 3 HDMI. The following systems I intend to hook up as follows:

    Wii - Component
Gamecube - Component (if I can get the cables)
    PS2 - Component
    360 - HDMI
    Blu Ray Player - HDMI

The problem I have is my Dreamcast. I would like to hook it up through VGA but this TV lacks a VGA input. What would be a good way to go with this? Would a VGA to Component adapter work? Or would I need to go with a VGA to HDMI adapter?

I think the Gamecube and the Wii component video cables are the same. I recall buying one for my Wii and trying it on my Cube but I might be wrong it's been a while.

I would just go with the free HDMI slot that you will still have. Then it will have it's own dedicated (and not tied into the same component jack as the other consoles).

You could always try something like this. Not sure what the results would be like.

I don't think so. The component cables wouldn't be worth $100 if you could just use the ones from the Wii. In less you want the Gameboy Player, there isn't much of a reason to hook up your Gamecube. Just play your Gamecube games on the Wii.

As for the component adaptor, I believe there's someone on the boards who used one. I remember reading about it somewhere. It should work.

I use an Impact Acoustics VGA to Component Adapter for my Dreamcast. It upscales to 720p and 1080i if I want it to, both of which look better than 480p in most games.

What you should do is invest in an awesome receiver that will pump everything out through a single hdmi connection and surround you with lovely tunes.

Well for the Gamecube there's two reasons for wanting it hooked up:

    1) The Gameboy Player
    2) I still play PSO on the private servers from time to time.

And the Wii cables don't work. They use an entirely different connector.

    EDIT:

It also appears that my Fios box needs to go through either HDMI or Component to send a proper HD signal to my TV. So I am probably going to need to get a splitter box.

Might wanna give this product a shot:

    http://www.amazon.com/Component-vide...4347983&sr=8-4

It'll convert VGA to HDMI, AND upscale. Check out the reviewer images, they have shots of Guilty Gear X running in 720p. VERY sexy. According to said reviewer, this box can even bypass the issue of some games in VGA mode... then again, a few people here who I showed this too said that's not entirely accurate... at any rate, I'm definitely getting one for myself after the holiday rush.
