    Default Bomberman games

I've never like Bomberman that much until recently. I just thought it's one of those arcade-puzzle games that were popular among the casual crowd. So, one day I was bored and picked up Mega Bomberman cart at a local flea market.

Several hours later I was hooked! I've invited some friends, got some beer, and spend almost a day on the little game. My only regret is that I haven't bought a 4 player adapter with the game.

Some time later, I decided to check the rest of the series by the means of emulation (yeah, shame on me, whatever). The one I've liked the most was the first Super Bomberman on SNES (probably due to the graphics style), but Mega Bomberman is great too, and got me hooked up on the series. Google says that Saturn Bomberman is regarded as the best in the series, but my PC can't handle the emu well, so I have to find a disc for my console quick

So what do you guys think on the series? What Bomberman game is your favorite?

Saturn Bomberman is without any doubt the very best Bomberman game. Graphics, music, game modes - there's just nothing comparable.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

Having not had the pleasure of Saturn Bomberman, my favorite is Atomic Bomberman on PC. It is really a much funnier game with all of the goofy sound effects, like diarrhea splatter for certain bomb diseases.

Saturn is my fav. I spent many a night playing it in 10 player mode with my friends. The resolution looks odd in that mode. I wonder how it would fair on an HDTV

Mega Bomberman is just an inferior port of Bomberman 94, so if you enjoy that game, you should check out the source material. For what it's worth, Bomberman 94 has my favorite single player mode. Saturn bomberman is way better in multiplayer, though.

I've checked all the PC Engine versions aaand... Bomberman from 1990 is gonna be my favorite from now on Just can't beat it's clean oldschool look. Later games have just too much going on at screen with too many colors.

Bomberman '93 is my favorite, mainly because of the Battle Mode. I was fortunate enough to get to play Bomberman and '93 with 2 - 4 friends on a regular basis bitd. I really don't like the visual style of the Super games. Mega/'94 and Saturn Bomberman are also amazing games.

What I really mean is that I only love the style of Bomberman 2 NES, PCE Bomberman and Saturn games. So Super Bomberman 3 falls into that category. I haven't played through it, but it looks like another variation of Bomberman '94.

That was the very first bomberman I played, so I always have a special place in my heart for it. I hesitate recommending it to people because it's pretty antiquated and Saturn Bomberman, Atomic Bomberman, and Bomberman 94 are all a lot more accessible, but it's one of my favorites as well.

It got a pretty good port over to the Amiga under the name Dynablaster.

I'm serious about trying out bomberman 94 though. Absolutely wonderful single player. And playing it with 5 people is great fun.

OOOOH Also try out the XBLA bomberman game. Not act zero (that's not on XBLA) but the one based off of saturn bomberman. Great game.

Incidentally, that bomberman theme song... so catchy. I like the Bomberman 94 remix best.

I've played many Bomberman games over the years, the first one for the NES being the first one I've ever played, but I'd have to say that Mega Bomberman/Bomberman 94' is possibly the best I've played. I've never played Saturn Bomberman before, but I keep hearing some great stuff about it, mainly the insane number of players it can support at one time, but then I thought to myself, "I don't have enough friends to make use of this multitap", and passed on it.

Bomberman games are great. My Mom is even more obsessed with them than I am.

Hell I lucked up and was able to get the Saturn version disc only from a friend on another forum. I haven't played it to mush though which kinda sucks but I do have a multi tap and a few controllers. I just recently got into Bomberman games via My N95 and I had a blast with them.
