That fricking jumping section right before the final boss in Shinobi III PISSES me off. I suck.

I liked the stages better in Revenge of Shinobi. They found ways to make 'em interesting. More than a couple stages in Shinobi III feel generic, bland and boring. Also, the music is mostly better in Revenge with the exception of maybe one or two tunes in part III.
Eh, once you leaned how to properly do the somersault jump this one is easy too. Then there's always the jump magic.

The jump magic is useless in shinobi 3
I don't think the jump magic really help with this jump. I have spent a lot of lifes even when using the jump magic until I finally learned how to do it.
It's a really hard jump, that needs almost perfect timing.
The jump magic in Shinobi 3 is more useful than in RoS - because it really help you in that falling rocks stage. I can't say the same about RoS.The jump magic is useless in shinobi 3
I used to cheat with the jump magic in Revenge of Shinobi at the Ocean jump and at the last jump in level 2 with the falling logs. Then, once the ocean jump opened my eyes to the full power of the somersault technique I never needed the jump magic again.![]()

Shinobi III is my shit
But this is what Shin Shinobi Den should've looked like!
That Traps video's music is way too fast. Is that from over the pond or just bad emulation?

I have kno clue whatsoever
I don't suppose anyone knows a cast-iron reliable site for release dates? When was Revenge of Shinobi released in the US? EGM's December issue has a release date of January 1990 written down for the game, most other sources state December 1989.
Wikipedia also has Golden Axe as being a launch title in the US, which I'm sure is wrong

I mix between digitpress and gamefaqs and then use rotten tomatoes or just google to try to corroborate release dates. Or you could just use Gamepilgrimage and if you find something wrong let me know. Revenge of Shinobi was definitely out before the end of 1989 because I bought it as soon as it was released, and I think I bought my Genesis in November of that year. I bought the Genesis as soon as it was available in San Antonio, so I am not sure where it launched at in August, probably New York, Chicago and Los Angeles

I remember RoS as one of the earliest games that was released shortly after launch and that Golden Axe came a while later. I remember eagerly waiting for Golden Axe. Back then, each week seemed like an eternity and that first year Genesis releases seemed few and far between.
