Shadow of the Beast is awesome!! It was a little sensitive and difficult, but it looked good, sounded great and played awesome.
You play it lately? This is the biggest load of crap ever made! An eternal side scrolling game with random shit popping up all over the place to take your pathetically low quota of lives, simply dreadful.Originally Posted by Mr Smith
Music and graphics are decent, animation is poor though, and so are the controls.

Shadow of the Beast II, perhaps?Originally Posted by megabomberman
I agree with all of the above criticism directed at ol' Beast Shadow part I. It doesn't matter which console you play it on, the game is simply awkward in all ways that matter, and the challenge stems mainly from that fact.
Have you beat it without cheating?

Is smith joking, can someone possibly believe this game is not absolutely embarrassing?
SOTB sucked! Not even the soundtrack was any good, unless you're really into ambient "world music" stuff. I liked SOTB2, but I'm not saying it didn't suck as well.. one of the most unforgiving games I've ever played.
Shadow of the Beast was awesome. I loved the "random shit" that popped up -- so many different, unique enemy designs; really stood out from all the other games of the time that had repetitive, often pallette-swapped enemies. Great graphics and music too. The only big problem I had with it was that the jumping controls suck.
The Genesis version is a little disappointing, because the collision detection is pickier. And I don't like how your life maxes out (in other versions, you can keep adding to your life with those potions in the early part, but in the Genesis version, you just waste them unless you come back later). Still, the graphics and gameplay are largely fine, and I even didn't mind the redone music.
I can also honestly say that I've beaten the game without cheating. More than once. The end "boss" is disappointing, and actually fairly easy.
Also, the fact that you can do anything automatically makes it better than quite a few NES, VCS, and Odyssey2 games.![]()

You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.
Worst: Final Fantasy VIII/8. Okay... it's not among the worst games I've ever played, but it's definitely the worst of the FFs. It walks the suspension of disbelief line hard (so many stupid plot twists and fallacies).
best game: doom (1&2 yay for pure violence and gore), phantasy star online (speaking of which there is a private server for blue burst now), battletoads (is this battletoads), quake 3, genesis sonic games, the list goes on
worst game ever... battle ship for the sega genesis (shit sucks), tony halk pro skater series
Well... as far as my personal nostalgia goes I'd have to say it's a tie between Wing Commander 2 and 3 for the best. Leaning more towards 2 especially as it was the first game to really involve me with its characters and story even though I hadn't played the original at that point in time.
As for the worst game... probably Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for the NES. I still have no idea what the hell you're supposed to be doing in that game.
The best game I played is either Sonic 2 or World of Illusion. I can't decide. Both are amazing games that would make any 16-Bit fan happy.
N*Sync Get To The Show.
