gilligan's island on the nes was a very difficult game. i never could beat it.
Basically, you travel around the island doing tasks for the other shipwrecked friends. Mr.Howel is stuck up in a tree, get him down, the professor needs something from the other end of the island etc.
you do this with a time limit, while dodging evil monkeys and quick sand... yeahhhh....
Ya know, hearing that description of the gameplay in "Gilligan's Island" makes me visualize a single word inside my head in bright red letters on a white background with at least exclamation points.
The word? Shit
I'm amazed at the utter garbage that managed to get the Nintendo Seal of Approval.

Starcraft is a dang cool game, and one I spent a sickening number of hours with during my online play heyday. You're right about 'The Hunters' ... that map was ludicrously overplayed, but I have to admit, some of the resource-loaded mods made for extremely enjoyable games. Having a near limitless supply of minerals and gas, never needing to expand, building a fleet of carriers, and doing the killing rounds.. oh ho ho ho ho. Or upgrading early, pumping out a couple of dark templars, and invisislaughtering your foes.. oh ho ho ho ho!! Or organizing a completely unjust comp-stomp, and zerg-rushing the poor automated beefwits..! OHHH HO HO HO HO!!!Originally Posted by Alianger
The very best games I've ever played, and could endlessly play?
Devil's Crush, TurboGrafx-16
Final Fantasy Tactics, PSX
Super Metroid, SNES
Tempest 2000, Atari Jaguar ... Tempest X for PlayStation equally playable
The very worst games I've ever played, and will play again only if I wish to experience suffering?
The Tick, Genesis/SNES
The Uncanny X-Men, NES
Those are quite wretched as well, although Robo Warrior.. that one's a questionable object of hatred for me. I manage to approach it with a consistent optimism, only to be disappointed again and again. Robocop for NES is particularly agonizing. I'd have to put Home Improvement for SNES above the Home Alone atrocities, but why rank human feces?Originally Posted by Alianger
I can't hate Sonic Adventure 2 enough. I can't. It's a Sonic game in name only. Buggy, poorly-translated, poorly-voiced, linear, MANDATORY KART LEVELS, stupid last boss, plot straight out of a two-bit Japanese cartoon and about three levels where you play as the title character. The Chaos Emeralds are magnetic (what? even Sonic Heroes got them right - they are shiny and make Sonic super jeez), Amy is once again the whiny sidekick and not the potential forth character SA1's ending made her out to be, Tails is in a mech making his nickname pointless, and Sonic is an arrogant, egotistical I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU YET SHADOW >:[ *sonic wind attack* bastard.
I'm yet to play the Sonic 360 game, but despite its cold reception I doubt it could be much worse than SA2.
Best game? Tricky. I like Crazy Taxi as it's simple, shallow, pretty, and it's got a fantastic soundtrack. I like Shenmue as it's a beautiful game, and feels real. I like Chu Chu Rocket!, as it takes a fresh, original concept and you can scream at the bastard who keeps sending you the cats just as you've got your arrows set up right. I like Rocket Knight Adventures as it does so many things well - going neatly from platformer to shmup (I dare you not to go 'whoa' at Axel's gun), it's pretty, and it's one of the few games on the system that makes its sound chip sing.
I like a lot of things, but the worst spring to mind easily. Funny, that.

You know, I didn't think it was so bad either. There's actually parts of StH that I prefer to SA2. I mean, it does have it's glaring faults (such as an interspecies love story) but it's playable.
It's better. I'd really appreciate if you put as much effort into your spelling and usage of dots and the shift key, as the rest of the writing. You DO have interesting things to say, but the long stuff is very hard to read.Originally Posted by ary incorparated
