Man, y'all have terrible luck with those US longboxes.

Aside from NBA Action 98, all hinges intact, without any cracks on the actual cases or covers. That's not to say I haven't had a few broken over the years, but they're easy enough to replace with a gutted Tomcat Alley or equivalent. I'd say, since 1993, I've had maybe 5 cases break on me? And those are usually when I myself was transporting a game to a friends place, usually in a backpack. I never once bought a game that came broken.

I think it's just good fortune, though, because I know they ARE flimsy. But seeing 2 brand new shipped cases completely shattered? That's terrible luck.

I've dated quite a few girls who were into retro gaming. Well, not into retro gaming, but the few games they would play would be games from their childhood, usually stuff like Dr. Mario or stuff like that. Actually, just about every girl I've dated had loved Sonic the Hedgehog and will sit down and play the game from time to time.

It's much easier to keep gaming and girls separate when you have a dedicated gaming room, though. It lets me keep my games from spilling over into the rest of my house. Girls can come and hang out in my living room without being surrounded by bright, japanese boxes with little cartoon characters on them haha. And I can take them to bed without feeling like I'm going to Toys R Us.

Here's my small Saturn collection. I also have lose copies of Daytona, vf2 wwf the arcade game, and NFL quarterback club 96. Space jam has the disc, manual, and insert but no case. I salvaged the case to complete a sega CD copy of ecco the tides of time.

You can find quite a few Sega CD and Saturn FMV games for pretty cheap to gut if you look around. A copy of Tomcat Alley complete can go for as low as $1 + shipping, which is way less than I'd pay for a plastic case all by itself. Just make sure you instruct the seller to wrap that bitch with bubble wrap and mark the package "Fragile"

At the two local shops that carry Sega CD and Saturn games I can always find a complete and uncracked case when I buy a game. They'll usually let me swap out a sports game case that is unbroken with what I am buying even. It is pretty nice. Now if they could keep people from stealing their disks from the cases when they leave them out in the open...

I found space jam for Saturn at a local half price books for $2.00. My brother had a discount he let me use so I think I paid like 50 cents for it.

that's what I meant. you shouldn't really care about girls though. that way it they will be more interested. on the other hand you shouldn;t be interested in girls like those. but I guess that's an experience thing you hopefully learn. all I can say is have no fear for anything, or try to lose whatever fears you have. only then you will meet the "perfect girl" for you. personally I almost get sick saying this last piece as I don't believe in true love etc but relationship with my girlfriend truly is perfect and I never believed in anything like that before and I know it's very rare and very few people get to know it. which is probably why I have it, since I never looked for it and was always appalled at EVERY relationship I saw around me and still do.

most the girls I know who play games, including my girlfriend I got them into gaming, for instance I have 3 female friends who played and finished shenmue because I showed it to them and I always thought how shenmue is really like a perfect game for girls, all the details, looking in drawers etc and it was definitely true. they played the game so slowly, looking at everything. I like to see those different points of views. although all of them played games when younger, I think almost any girl with a brother or father has played some games like gta or mario or sonic. I always say if girls like movies or books, they will like games, as they are often like movies except with interaction and they are as long or longer than books

Girls, they always seem great at first, but then you get to know them better... And trust me, I've learned more than my fair share. I was talking to my ex, (whom I broke up with because of her personal problems, I felt like I was just a distraction for her) who said I've had the most girl-related issues out of anybody she's ever known. and virtually all of them were because I was the nice guy and they were closeted assholes that dumped all their shit and drama on me. :/ I'm pretty much done with it though, I've given up looking for a girl for the time being because I'm at the age where girls my own age are a pain in the ass, and girls older than me who are more mature wouldn't be interested in a guy like myself. (I'm 17)

I'll most likely wait till my early 20's before I get involved with somebody again.

Anyway, which console, in yall's opinions, has the best 3D fighters? The Saturn has notable ones such as Virtua Fighter 2, Virtua Fighter Remix, Fighters Megamix, Fighting Vipers, Dead or Alive, Anarchy in the Nippon, Last Bronx, and debatably, Virtual On. All are great titles, but what does the PS1 have in it's library that can compete with these titles? (preferably from 1994-1998, 5th gen proper.)

What's the big deal? Lots of women play games. I've never really gotten that stereotype. Go to any arcade, there will be female persons there (unless it's empty).

The saturn had the best fighting game library hands down, 3D or 2D. The Playstation doesn't have much that can match the playability or technical prowess of the games you listed above. Compare the PSX version of DOA to the Saturn version, for example. 3D fighting games begin and end with Tekken on the PSX. There are others to be certain, but they're a big step back from the Virtua Fighters or Dead or Alives or Tekken games of that era. The one big franchise missing is noticeably MK4, which wasn't even that great (and the N64 and Dreamcast ports are much better anyways).

man you are 17. you shouldn't bother with relationships at all. I'm always shocked at young people wanting relationships. it's something culturally I guess and perhaps in how kids are raised with ridiculous images of marriage and children by their parents and also at young age and faihtfulness and other lies(just go watch dr phill). all I can say is... fuck girls, explore them, befriend them perhaps, but nothing more until you have experienced so much that you know what is best for you at a much more mature age. my experience is girls from 14-17 are more simple and horny and just want to fuck. it's the age after 18 where almost all of them become a pain in the ass with all their whining and ridiculous expectations. much later they change into just being happy to get fucked by anyone (the milf age). don't forget you are already fine who you are, your own best friend and nobody but yourself can complete you. with that state of mind you don't look for relations or anything, just be happy with yourself and also keep in mind you are only young one time and you can never redo that time, just watch pathetic 30rs in their midlife crisis, fresh from diforce trying to be young, but in reality being completely clueless.

many of my friends from years ago who wound up with relationships in their mid/late 10s or early 20s, are now living in hell(their words and they are right) of course they are also too coward to break up and were too coward to not begin a relationship at young age. me I simply look at them with pity when one of them tells me he has gotten a dog... or how one girls forbids him to go watch football because she is then alone in the house the whole night...

I can't imagine how many developmental milestones one would miss if they didn't begin dating until they were 18+. I think back to all the missteps I made when I dated when I was younger, and how I learned from them, and how awkward it would be to be in my 20's still making those mistakes. Dating throughout puberty is important because practice makes perfect.

Would you say that the Saturns library of fighters surpasses that of the Neo-Geo? I think it does. There are many obscure japan-only fighters on the Saturn too.. I don't think the PS and the N64 libraries of fighters combined could match the saturn's selection of fighters

I agree with both of you, to an extent. However I'm not at all interested in casually having sex with anybody. It contradicts my personal moral and "religious" standards. I don't think anybody can make a blanket statement or generalization stating that "anybody under the age of X cannot date" because everybody is different. For example, in my last relationship my father was very impressed with how maturely I handled things, saying that I was acting far more wise than he did at my age. Everybody that knows me personally knows that I'm different from other guys my age.... I'm not at all interested in casual dating or drunken sexual encounters, only relationships.
