The name "Magical Game Factory" just sounds super lame (IMHO.... sounds like a lame early 90's little kids toy company or such). Is that going to be printed on the box of the game or have its own boot splash screen? Hopefully not, with just WM logo stuff in its place.

Pretty sure "Magical Game Factory" is in and of itself a Watermelon project. Watermelon is still the company.

Very noticeable in his songs on the Sonic Boom hack.

There's also this guy, and he's not even using the SN chip:

The FM part runs on a real genesis, the drums are overlaid since the tracker didn't support PCM nor PSG at the time.

The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

The interesting thing about these music demands is the demonstration a brawler will be judged foremost on its presentation. Which is to say, against SoR2. SoR2's gameplay is good but not great; what pushed the experience over the top was the art design, graphical quality, and music. Even after all these years there's nothing to speak of in terms of brawler mechanics, it would be an astonishing disappointment if WM didn't ace not only SoR2 but SoR Remake in every mechanic and aspect of level design. There's plenty of berth for better characters too. But brawlers are at once dangerously repetitious, party games, and groove games, so music is paramount. Mediocre graphics would hurt cz they're so expected to be great; mediocre music would go a long way towards ruining the game. I have a feeling that if they do pursue this genre they'll vary the musical style by level or thematic/scenario section rather than the whole's being techno.

A brawler can have the best mechanics and end up being a disappointment if the presentation, atmosphere and music don't hold it together.
    Case in point: BK3.

WM must far and away outstrip BK3's mild advancements. More co-op moves, more attack diversity, a deeper pondered special move mechanic and restraint, anything but the weapon HP system (or for those of you unlucky pen and paper role players who ever used Palladium, SDC), more interaction with the environment--eg being able to swing round a pillar/stripper pole/&c and drop kick, hide under tables, open doors as shields, and so on. BK3 also had worthless level design. Really, the difference I expect to see is like SMB3 compared to Donkey Kong.

Well it'll have RPG elements too, so it'll be different no doubt.

When I first saw it I thought it was a play on Magical Sound Shower. The more I see it, the less I think that.

Well, I disagree, but I will not waste my time debating over this. You are entitled to your opinion, as am I.

Personally I think that demanding WM to ace BK2 and 3 with their brawler is like demanding them to ace Super Mario 3 and World with a platformer. It's impossible. All they can do is their best if that's not good enough for you then don't buy the game.

Thanks. I put 400 GEMS there.
Looks like that one guy or two big guys dropped a lot of cash into platformer, 'cause more than 7000 GEMS were scaled in the MEG Power bar within 2 hours.

    Platformer 34% VS Beat'em Up 33%.
