How many platforms was the game planned for back in '94?
SEGA is the Messiah of Console Gaming.

In July 2013, Exactly 164 months after Dreamcast launched, something BIG will happen at SEGA. Which is "ORBI" the world.

All the NAYSAYERS will be silenced forever when Orbi get's its "Notice of Allowance".

Remove "alternative" and I will completely agree with you.

I've heard that SS2 has been hard to boot on newer operating systems up until the digital release. Is this true?

I've been playing it on my WinME PC.

I don't think it was considered for anything outside of PC and Mac.

I played it on Vista with a fan-made patch and it worked perfectly.

I loved system shock when it came out. Then I lost the cd. The game always felt too nerdy for mass appeal though.

So your saying to many PC gamers back in 1994, it was considered too much of a "Doom" rip-off?

    BTW, Anyone remember "Shadow Warrior"?

    ?? No.
Did you see the video the OP posted?

Doom and SS are 2 completely different games, ranging from story to gaming mechanics.

Actually, I missed it. My bad.

I have to admit it looked very impressive for its time as a shooter and FAR superior than Doom. To bad Doom was more popular.

Again question, does anyone remember "Shadow Warrior"?

SS isn't a shooter and neither is it's sequel. SS is a first person adventure with shooting elements.
SS 2 is an action role playing game, and survival horror with shooting elements.

Doom was a straight up First person shooter.

As for your shadow warrior, I do in fact happen to recall some of the game, but not much. Luckily I can always relive that memory with convenience.

Its What you said System Shock is. Except that it uses the Doom engine and is a late era DOS game released in 1997. It was pretty popular for its time. One kid in my class played it quite frequently.

One thing i don't like about SS1 graphics is that the doors and some walls look paper thin as they are 2D flat objects. Doom and i think even Wolfenstein 3D had solid, 3D looking doors and walls. I guess it was one of the engines shortcuts to allow free look?
