Stupid people aren't stupid because they smoke weed, they are stupid because they are stupid, they just smoke weed too.

I can easily relax by playing a video game. If I have a stressful day at work I can easily sit down and play a game like Minecraft for a bit and come out feeling relaxed.
But if you want it to be a truly passive activity, then I can relax by just watching TV, and not putting strange chemicals into my body. How's that?
And I'm not saying I know how it makes you feel, I'm simply saying from my experience it makes people annoying and stupid. The people who don't act extremely stupid on the stuff tend to be the polar opposite of being so overly mellow that they are pretty much as useful as a sack of potatoes. Try and get a high person to get off their butt and do something. Odds are they wont because they just want to chill. It's annoying having to put with that kind of crap when your the sober person.
I'm not saying you're an evil person for doing the stuff, nor am I saying I'm better than you for not doing it. I'm simply saying I probably wouldn't want to be around you when you were high, because I find the state of mind it puts people in to be annoying.

That's not being relaxed. You're using a vauge, incorrect definition of the word. You're confusing joy and pleasure with relaxation. You're not relaxed, you're engaged.
Because A) THC isn't a "strange" chemical, it's an activator which releases natural chemicals in your body, and B) television has harmful effects on your eyes. But if you want it to be a truly passive activity, then I can relax by just watching TV, and not putting strange chemicals into my body. How's that?
A retarded Sonic.
Question: Do you take asprin?
A retarded Sonic.
No, I do not take asprin. And lol at TV harming your Eyes, smoking Weed and Tobacco harms your lungs, and alcohol kills your liver. I'd take mild eye strain over those effects any day of the week.
Do you take any perscription drugs?
And did you even read this topic? A) OP is vaporizing, not smoking, and B) You can EAT weed.
There's also the entire issue of playing into a culture of corruption when you watch TV. You are supporting a corrupt regime that dominates the world and has far, far worse consequences than even the drug wars in mexico.
A retarded Sonic.
Please tell me how watching an episode of Star Trek is "playing into a culture of corruption" and "supporting a corrupt regime that dominates the world" .
Star Trek is owned by CBS, which owned by westinghouse. By watching star trek, you A) support the creative stranglehold they have over traditional mediums, which suppresses free speech with numerous barriers to entry for the average man, and B) put dollars into their pockets which in turn goes to their lobbying interests, which are supported by bribery at the highest levels of every office in the world. Westinghouse, for example, has major interests in illegal nuclear waste disposal, which they push upon 3rd world countries by bribing their governments. They also suppress reporting of these actions because they own the means of mass communication.

By the by, that very show you're advocating, star trek? Gene roddenberry was a vocal proponent of marijuana and spoke in his book about writing episodes of the show while high. So yeah, that claim that you can't get anybody to get off their ass to do something while they're high is false.

I used to get high, I still hang around those who get ripped every day. Most of them are professionals, work good jobs, and you couldn't tell if they were smoking it.
I see it for what it is, something that shouldn't be prohibited, something that gives stressed out people a little bit of euphoria, and like any other substance, something that can be abused. It's not the weed that makes people lazy, annoying, and motivated to do nothing in the first place. It just makes those people content.
It has it's downside, same as liquor. People with a strong genetic disposition toward schizophrenia shouldn't take any psychoactive substance lightly. It could switch out the lights on them, alter their personality. It's very unlikely in small concentrations, it's not random, and it's better for these people to avoid black market dealers who can provide hard drugs or mushrooms which are actually dangerous.
The annoying part about stoners is the occasional extreme know-it-all attitude. It's the same with video gamers or retro gamers who are little more than kids, preaching about wonderful new secret discoveries of some super-rare game "nobody" has ever heard of, and they need to share. When asked what game, it turns out to be Startropics or Shining in the Darkness or something.
These people are annoying anyway, equally so are people in their early 20's who don't grow up; hell bent to shape the world, pissed off at everything around them because the blissful spoon-fed existence of youth was ill-equipped to prepare them for the real world, never coming back, and it's still being squandered on a group of inferior teenagers.
Indeed. The weed bashers themselves need to chill out, and ignore the extremist burnouts who think it's the greatest plant ever, cures diseases, and solves more mysteries than the scooby gang. There is exponentially more harm to come out of alcohol consumption. Alcohol causes as much cancer as smoking cigarettes, and damages your DNA in the same way.
It's all a matter of responsibility.
And just what do you support by smoking weed?
As for Roddenbery smoking weed, it doesn't surprise me. Some of the Original Series episodes are really out there and weird. However, I tend to notice that most people using those kind of defenses for using Weed aren't doing anything productive like that at all. Are you doing anything productive like that when you use Weed? Or are you just sitting in a chair chilling out and watching the wall?
I don't know a single person in my life who did something good or productive while high. Most of them just sat around doing nothing. Heck a girl my brother was seeing was pretty deep into the stuff. She couldn't even be bothered to get out of bed and feed her 2 year old when she was high.
EDIT: What Knuckle Duster just described, those kind of stoners, those are the only ones I've ever encountered in my life. Those are the kind of people I can't stand to be around when they're high. Those are the kind of people I want to punch in the face when they're high.
You can't change other people by being forceful with misinformation & ridicule as your backup. You can't make the annoying stoners/drinkers/kids any less annoying by smacking them with a blunt object.
It is futile for that purpose, and it speaks more of your own ignorance than theirs to generalize them.
Would you characterize video gaming as productive activity? Many people here do it every day, and it's pretty much the definition of "sitting around, doing nothing." But I don't play video games to be productive; I play video games because I enjoy playing video games. Likewise for smoking weed.
If you've only ever encountered annoying, obnoxious stoners, I'm sorry. But it's not like everyone who smokes weed behaves like that.
I didn't generalize all of them. I said I found the ones I had been around annoying to the point of wanting to punch them. If anything the people for it are being a bit out of hand in this thread. Calling those who say they don't use it and don't want to use it killjoys is a bit ridiculous.
