The system just launched, and you're blaming it's success thus-far on resellers and inferior gamers who like good graphics. Then you're talking about 'screen protectors' as if they're relevant toward system longevity. No, Zoltor. Screen protectors are $2 pieces of plastic found at every electronics store cut to fit any smartphone. They are not worth consideration. Playstation consoles traditionally linger with new content for close to a decade. Your argument is foolish.

Who cares why people buy Playstations? Who cares why people buy anything on ebay for retarded prices? What does that matter if someone sells a PSVita they aren't satisfied with, rather than keep it and watch it depreciate? You're a 'loathsome status symbol' expert now, huh? Could have fooled me. I thought you were a balls-to-the-wall RPG nerd with a hard-on for hating modernization of that sub-genre.

If I paid 250 bucks for a Vita and they suddenly sold out, and ran for 400 on ebay. Fuck you, I'm selling it. I'll buy it when it's back in stock.
Fuck off, Zoltor. Your argument is that you hate Sony because you hate gamers who buy their shit.

I don't think that was necessary.

That doesn't make me not want to give him more rep though.

The PSPGo isn't a total loss though. Sure at $250 it was a total ripoff, at a more respectable price tag it'd be nice for running signed emulators on.

Your interjection on his behalf is what isn't necessary here. It's more one-line brain-fart answers that convey nothing to the topic at hand but contention. I'm not stupid, and certainly considerate enough to understand where most people would be coming from with that response. However, this is the internet, and Sega-16 isn't a language-filtered shit-hole like most mainstream sites where everybody holds hands, pats each other on the back. Certainly not when the vitriol is flying around, trying to be passed off as discussion.

Saying fuck off isn't a personal insult. It's conveying a strong disregard for what he's arguing... it even precedes that point in the quote. It's certainly not that bad considering it's a response to him calling a large subset of new gamers 'Graphics whore scum', so deal with it or start wearing headgear when you're surfing the net.

In a sane universe, the PSP Go would have launched for $150, accepted the standard peripherals of the PSP (Cables & memory cards) and included a free PSN game or two.

It was a valueless compromise for most gamers in the market for PSP hardware. As was argued in it's defense, it filled a niche; Which is still a waste of effort for a big company in the hardware market. I would consider it a disaster.

The idea of writing off the Vita as 'overhyped' or a 'POS', when the console hasn't even been available in the western market for barely a month or so is absurd.

Or of course, it's a case of "it's new and people like it so I don't"

I'm sure I'll end up with one in the future, but right now, I'm fine with my DS Lite.

I think it's more of a case of, the 3DS wasn't a flop on launch but fell way short of expectations, considering the huge success of the DS.

@KD: Yes it's a disaster, but like the 32X and Virtual Boy, there can still be some fun to be had.

I get the impression the PSPGo burned you so badly, your opinion of it is rock bottom and won't ever be budged. Nothing wrong with that.

Except for the fact that the DS had a pretty lousy launch and only became super popular a year (or two) afterwords. But most people are quick to forget that.

Yes graphic whores, the entire marketing is, It's as powerful as the PS3, as if that's a good thing, but the graphic whores eat it up.

Not some cheap screen protecter, but a cover for when It's not being used(not sold separately either, as some after thought).

Do I really need to point out everything I don't like about this POS, all Sony is about, is trying to scam people, if you think for one second Sony actually cares about releasing a quality product, you must not know much about Sony. Sony is as bad as Gamestop when it comes to running scams, if not alittle worse.

Hell, for all the money they expect for this POS, is there any reason to not have BC with PSP( no, they can get away with anything, since people like you will support their actions, nomatter what, that's why they continue making BS moves like this). Hell even though the 3DS is a POS which focuses on a pointless graphics aspect, It's BC with the DS, they aren't trying to scam the consumer by making them pay for the games all over again.

I was just pointing out that a Sony system actually selling at release, doesn't mean anything, which the topic tries to claim that because it sold 1.2m already, it must be doing good(maybe with non Sony systems perhaps, but with Sony systems, people buy just to resell(we aren't even getting into the fact, many of the people who actually buy to play, will return/sell it, because It's a POS, not the awesome thing they hoped it would be, which is another reason a Sony system selling at launch means nothing), not use it(you imply people open them, try it, and then resell, while this is the case later on, especially with how Sony constantly disappoints, most people buying them at launch, don't even open them up, they literally just bought them to resell).

People are insane to put up with Sony, to make mattlers worse for the industry, morons actually pay these insane prices(as if the launch prices weren't overpriced as is for what you get).

Isn't the PSP Go DL only lol for its games(aka basically It's a emulater in a handheld casing for PSP games), what a bad idea, we should all be happy that noone let Sony get away with that, It's bad enough they expect you to repay for games, to beable to play them on the Vita/PS3, but to make it so all the games for a system is DL only is the worst idea ever in the history of the industry, and frankly I would rather buy a 32X or ever Virtual Boy then that(atleast you physically have the games, which warrants the price you shelled out).

Needless to say, I think all the hate the PSP Go gets is well justified(OMG I'm so glad people didn't let Sony get away with that BS, the gaming industry would be nonexistant now, if such a system took off).

I don't have money for a Vita right now but I'm just glad the thing has proper analog sticks. The original PSP went underplayed in my collection because the nub was such a piece of shit. It was probably the least comfortable portable I have owned. Playing the demo of Wipeout on Vita today was so much better than Wipeout on PSP because of the controls. I'm looking forward to getting a Vita for Shinobido, Gravity Rush and others.

The only problem that I have with Sony right now is the fact that they're abusive to their own customers. I've already talked about this fairly lengthy like in another thread so I'm not going to touch on it here.

The Vita looks like it might be pretty cool, there's some pretty interesting games on it from what I've seen (which is what the most important thing is IMO). I would probably buy one if Sony of American didn't suck, from what I've been seeing recently they're not going to stop sucking anytime soon.

As for the 3DS, I like it a lot so far. The 3D effect to me makes up for graphics not being as good as the Vita's. I'll agree with Knuckle Duster though, the User Interface (I'm mostly thinking of the home menu) is just terrible, you have to scroll for several minutes or something to get to a virtual console game, it sucks.

I've only got two games for it, LoZ Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 3D Land and I've enjoyed those a lot. I'm really hoping, (but I realize it's not likely) that there at least won't be as many dry spells as there was for the Wii and GC.

Sony only cares about making money. Nintendo only cares about making money. Microsoft only cares about making money. All of them care about their ability to make money, and by extension, the quality of their products. Underhanded or gray-area business ethics, or as you call them, 'scams' aren't their business, but where it's an acceptable risk it will likely happen. Business is business. They all shit on their own customers in different ways.

The price is high for a handheld without inclusive necessities like memory, the price isn't too high to sell. They removed a battery draining optical medium, in support of solid state memory. That's why physical backwards compatibility is removed. You can still use digital content, and appeasing your logic would mean including an expensive UMD slot. That would be really stupid.

You're saying launch sales are meaningless because of a culture of resales propping up in the market for the latest tech gadgets. We understand that you believe it and it somehow undermines success. You're saying Vita is a piece of shit platform because Sony still has potential customers and tries to sell them something with potential for software developers. We understand you're biased against Sony for being a typical, profit driven, business with an accumulated history of throwing it's weight around to harm competitors. We understand you hate Sony, and blame their customers for your own insecurities.

People like you are more insane to believe multinational corporations are like politicians, held accountable to your every whim because they have a new toy for sale you want nobody to have.

If you don't like Sony, don't buy their shit. Is this rocket science? I dislike Sony more than any other hardware company, the Vita seems like a good buy for game content when considering the brand's history. Nintendo 3DS seems like a good buy if you haven't played all those remakes it's getting. They're both toys. They're both successful. Buying them doesn't make some new kid 'Scum' or make your own personal little doll shrine dedicated to 1980s RPGs any worse.
