Looks sexy, wish it has a d-pad.
Yeah, the whole "stretching 4:3 games to a 16:9 screen" thing is just dumb. I don't understand why anyone would find that appealing. The screen should be the same shape as the games. That just means they went for the cheapest screens they could find and they all happened to be 16:9.
The real question is whether this is a dealbreaker. Also, does this apply solely to the haldheld device or also the console? One thing that should be considered is that current software being released for consoles like the XBOX360 and PS3 allow the user to manipulate the screensize to their preference. Does the console allow for this? None of the press releases have discussed this issue as of yet.
From the above image, correct me if I am wrong but it appears that the console's overall dimension is smaller than the original AES.

I'd rather have a smaller screen in the proper shape than a bigger one where circles look like ovals.
And since the handheld connects inside of it(yay!), theres no room for a repro cart slot for original AES/MVS games.
Anyway, heard extra controllers were $50 each. Retail sticks of that price usually have lousy parts. Hopefully it'll have room to mod in real Sanwa buttons & stick without much hassle.

If not, I guess one could always just remove the PCB & wiring and install it into another stick case with room for quality parts.

I dunno about that. I have the Neo Geo control pad and it's microswitched. It doesn't control any better than a d-pad and the thing needs to be disassembled and cleaned after a while because microswitches shed dust and clog, making them unresponsive. I'd take a d-pad over a microswitch any day.
I have both the Neo Geo joystick and the control pad, and I have to say, I'm not terribly impressed with the control pad. The joystick is great, and serves its purpose well, but the control pad I found kind of lacking when it came to pulling off combos and moves in most games. I just wish the original joystick controllers weren't so expensive. Between the system, MVS - AES adapter and accessories, I've easily spent 500+ on the system, and that's not even counting the games (some AES some MVS).
If this clone can accurately reproduce a quality experience when docked to a TV, I'm probably going to pick it up in lieu of getting legit (i.e. expensive) copies of games like Garou: MOTW, SVC Chaos, and other high-ticket games.
You have to hope those games get released for it though or that there's a way to play your own ROMs on it, we don't know how well they're going to support the thing.
I know about the slot but the Ninja Warriors game gave me the impression that it's not for ROMs. If you have a site that confirms it plays them off of any old SD card I'd be really interested in seeing it since it's one of my main concerns.
