Alien Soldier is awesome but...

Hey, I prefer his "eagle" look much more than what they were thinking of making him look like first.

Well after looking at the concept art, I honestly have to say that I've lost my appetite. There is no need to defeather Epsilon-Eagle and shove him in the oven! Instead of fried chicken, I am now in the mood for pizza!

But in all seriousnesss, Epsilon-Eagle is a very interesting and likeable character. The character reminds me of a cross between a "chimera" like creature and bionic man. And after you read the story about "double e", it only adds to that belief. At least to me.

With this in mind, tt makes me wonder why I never had an affinity with notable characters like Vectorman. Maybe it's just because he is a robot with a lackluster story and with no real personality behind the helmet. Looking at the box art, the character evokes zero emotion for me. I think that if the artist's final rendering of the character took into account this fact and added some type of anthropomorphic characteristics, let's say Mega Man like facial features and or expression (anger, fear, etc.), I think he would be well recieved among the masses. Poor poor Vector Man. It almost makes me wonder if he is related to the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz! He should have accompanied his cousin and Dorothy down that golden path!

Alien Soldier, Gunstar Heroes and Dynamite Headdy are all stunning. Alien Soldier is hard for me. I love it but can't get past a certain boss you have to chase while negotatiating platforms set on water.

Bird's claws are designed for locking around an object and gripping it, however since bird bodies are very light and well balanced they have no problems standing or walking on them, the toes just turn up a little bit.

Now I am never playing it. The more over hyped the game is, the less I enjoy it (like MUSHA).

For some reason, I tend to enjoy games that people don't like or give mixed reviews.

For example--Whip Rush, Raiden (Sega), Grind Stormer, Rayxanber II, Image Fight II, Ranger X etc.

You're not even gonna try it? You should at least give it a shot in emulation or something. Like I said earlier, Dynamite Headdy is essentially a boss rush too, and I know you liked that game quite a bit.

There have to be some hyped games you like... I'm pretty certain you've said you loved Final Fantasy VI in the past, and that's about as hyped a game as there is.

From what I've seen at least, your most common complaint about games you don't like is that they're boring, and that certainly couldn't be leveled against Alien Soldier.

Were you not the man who said completing Chrono Trigger should be required of every gamer? Nothing's more overhyped than Chrono Trigger and, oh yeah, it's also a boss rush.
(It becomes this later on but I won't specify when in case there are members who've yet to play it).

How do you like Layer Section? It's rather on the fence between hyped and disregarded; it frequently makes people's favourite shmup list but there are many who think the only shmup to play on Saturn's RSG.
