According to the rumor, this is using an x86 CPU. That's a pretty fucking huge reason right there for it not to be backwards compatible, and moving away from Cell is a good thing.

If the "no used games" thing is accurate, that would cancel any interest I would've had in the system, regardless of any other factor. However, there were rumors of the same thing for PS3, and it never happened, so we'll see.

Unless publishers+hardware companies conspired to enforce "no used games" (as such) across the board, I can't see that concept really taking off for non-DLC content. (as it will promote publishers/platforms that don't enforce such restrictions)

I just don't know what to think anymore. I don't want to sound like a luddite, but from all rumors the next-generation consoles seem like utter garbage and I don't see any reason to buy them.

As is my PS3 and 360 already get a much smaller amount of play time compared to anything else, and this is the first time I've had to buy a current generation console (the 360) multiple times because of shoddy manufacturing.
