Whats this Japanese game?

Got this is in a bundle the other day, can anybody help identify it?

Its a platformer, with an middle eastern theme. The copyright date is 1990. Its pretty tough as 1 hit kills you and power ups do not regenerate when you restart the level.

Awesome, thanks! I had no idea that Decap Attack was based of anything. Looks like the graphics have more texture but are all grey and brown compared to Magical Hats bright, but plain, colours.

Yeah a guide showing box art and the names of the Jpn games that arent labelled in English would be pretty cool.

Its difficult to search on an image to see if the same question has been asked, so I made this new thread.

Yeah, I always found the Guardiana database helpful. It has a cover-art search as well, can be a bit tedious scrolling through but everything (Japanese-games wise anyway) should be in there if you're patient enough

Decap Attack has substantially better music. I'd much rather play the JP game though.
