    Definitely. The original controllers were better. In fact every 1st party accessory was.

    As for Genesis controllers, I haven't seen too much crap for it, later in it's life cycle. Unless you're trying to enter the Sonic 3 cheat code, but the Nomad proves that it's no better at it then alot of 3rd party controllers.

    DC fightpad manufactured by Ascii. One of the best 3rd party pads ever. Regular DC pads = atrocious for beat em ups. (That said, the fightpads aren't hugely useful for regular games - but I mostly play beat-em-ups and MAME stuff on DC anyway - when I set the thing up - maybe once or twice a year... :/ so it doesn't bother me much.)

    I think the Madcatz Dreampad is the best Dreamcast controller. But I wish Sega had used the Saturn 3D controller with the VMU as the default design for the Dreamcast.
