Sigma Star Saga is a shoot em' up?

A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

Yes? It's not a pure shoot 'em up, but it does feature that kind of gameplay.

I've had that box sitting around for years. Maybe I should drop it in the GBA player and try it out.

It's a game with a lot of mixed opinions. Personally, I like it, but some people hated it.

Yeah, I kinda hated it. It's a hybrid shooter/action-rpg, but I felt both types of gameplay were poorly represented. Plenty of people liked it, though, so if you already own it you should definitely check it out.

This list used to be longer, but I cut out mentions of all of the 3d, free-roam shooting games (Rogue Squadron, Terminal Velocity, Vortex, Wing Commander, etc.), light-gun style shooters, etc. from the non-shmups parts, so this is what's left. I know, what I left in those categories is somewhat arbitrary. Maybe they should be entirely removed? But I think mentioning at least some of them makes sense... I left in run & guns, but they could be removed too, not sure if they really belong. They quite likely don't. I did remove ones with more mission-based, free-roaming designs, like Cybernator or Ranger-X; I left in the more linear ones. I do think rail shooters should be on the list for sure though. Oh, stuff like Desert Strike or MechWarrior 3050 also aren't listed.

I'll list whether I have the box or not for some games, but not all, and not the ones in the "not shmup" bracket boxes.

Don't own any actual titles, sadly. Maybe you could count the Sega Smash Pack Vol. 1, because of Vectorman, but that's really sketchy because Vectorman probably shouldn't be on this list anyway.
