Default Suck a dick, nature. My air purifier has defeated you!

So I have terrible allergies. Chronic, throat-bleeding allergies. Pollen in houston is terrible, it's been at high for the last 2 weeks solid. I went through 40 claritin in a week and a half trying to save myself the agony of allergies. I washed all my sheets, vacuumed bi-daily, brushed my dog bare... nothing worked.

    Then I bought this:

The Oreck Air 16 Dualmax air purifier, one of the best commercial air purifiers available anywhere. They go for $300 online, but I got one at a store in houston for $250.

Let me tell you, if you suffer from allergies, THIS WORKS. I've had this bitch chugging away at my living room for 45 minutes now, and my allergies are completely gone. The burn from my eyes, vanished. My throat, soothed, albeit still raw from scratching. I can breath again. My sinus-pressure headache, which I've had for days, is completely gone. This baby has made me a believer. I gave nature the middle finger, and it flinched. I won.

You have no idea how incredibly happy I am right now.

EDIT: LOL, this was meant for off-topic. Can I get a move?

I wish you could have started this thread with a milder tone.
I've been looking for a good air purifier myself, but I just refuse to read on.

Well I applaud you, good sir! I too have been looking for an air purifier for a while now, being that I 1) live in the high desert and 2) am in a newer development so there's tons of dust on top of it all. I'll have to check this out.

An air purifier wouldn't exactly help me if I were to get into dusty work... Be it career or household. No airborne allergies, I'm just sensitive to dust...

Hell, I may need to get one of those if these wildfires in NE Florida get any worse. In fact, reports from the Division of Forestry said that this year is the driest its been since FireStorm '98. Dammit........

For reference sake, this is a pic I took at work last year around this time. Keep in mind that it was after 9AM and the city skyline isn't visible at all:

I've read that electrostatic air purifiers give off ozone, which seems a little less than desirable. I have a big honeywell that seems to help with my allergies.

I've had a small ionic air filter in my bedroom for years. Generating negative ions and blowing them into the air is good for the air quality of a home, it knocks allergens and dust out of the air faster and increases the air quality to levels similar to outdoor fresh air. Negative ions are used in hospitals and naval ships because they have been proven to increase the alertness and healing of people who must stay indoors.
