Kind of why retro gaming has kind of been ruined for me, collectors. Same type of people who buy like thirteen million starwars action figures only to never use them. Sort of the reason why I mostly buy Famicom and Super Famicom games now instead of going for NES and SNES. Why pay a ton of money for Ducktales 2 on the NES when you can get the famicom version for a fraction of the price? It's too bad that you can't play Mother 2 in English, because if I could I'd sell my EB cartridge and get a Mother 2 CIB instead >_>

I just looked at the completed auctions for Earthbound, holy shit! Cart only has sold for $200, and CIB for $600. Don't tempt me to sell I mean, I knew it was expensive now, but goddamn.

Omg what a rip-off, in the big scheme of things, It's not even that rare of a game(there are many much rarer games, also as far as rare games go, a factory sealed copy is very, very common), and it lacks the gameplay that is expected from such a highly valued RPG on top of that.

Hahahahaha! I was thinking the same thing until I realized that he's possessed by the devil. Let's look at his initial post once again:

Lol. I didn't think my reaction was going to warrant a change in the title.

I had a suspicion that the original auction initially presented in the opening post may not have gone through. And lo and behold, the seller has relisted the copy of "Earthbound" on ebay again: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Eart...item256f65c396

He probably realized that the game was worth more than the closing bid and reniged on the sale. Incidentally, it just sold for $329.99!

Now I feel little bad for the buyer who thought he won it cleanly! I imagine his or her reaction is similar to the one expressed in the opening post of this thread!

Hahahaha! You're darn right! Heck! When I saw that complete copy of Earthbound go for a measily $56.00, I had a feeling that the deal was going to fall through! Either he realized his error when he failed to put a minimum bidding amount in his initial auction or someone kindly informed him about what the game was actually worth in today's market.

On a similar note, I've been noticing alot more auctions featuring "SNES boxes". It makes me wonder if alot of these are simply reproduction boxes rather than the originals.

What I'd like to know, is why did ThunderBlaze16 blame Jesus of all people?

Maybe with everyone always praising Him all the time in sports and such, he felt the need to blame Him just to be different. I mean, you'll never hear a football player say, "Jesus made me fumble behind the line of scrimmage," or a basketball player say, "Jesus made me miss the free throw," so...

that really sucks, i've missed out on some great deals like that too for some very rare gaming related stuff. it's not a total loss though since the seller turned around and relisted it for over $300, that is insane I remember when bestbuy and walmart were clearing them out for $7 a piece in the late 90s.
