Is it possible as of now to run an eboot or something similar on the 3000 model without downgrading or using the battery trick? I enjoy my PSP and want to give it new features, so anyone who could reccomend something for it to let me play homebrew would be appreciated!

^It's the same for the PSPGO, just download 2 programs. I can't remember one of them but once you ran that on your psp, you can delete.

The other program was called 660 PRO-B Fast Recovery. If your psp 3000 ever fully shuts down, run this program real quick and it well be able to do stuff again like play emulators.

It also depends what version your psp 3000 is.

    EDIT: FOUND IT!

STEP 1: Download one of the following that matches the version of your psp 3000

    6.20 http://dl.qj.net/down/cfw-620-prob9.html

    6.35 http://dl.qj.net/down/cfw-635-prob9.html

    6.39 http://dl.qj.net/down/cfw-639-prob9.html

    6.60 http://dl.qj.net/down/cfw-660-prob9.html

STEP 2: Open up the zip file and drag 2 folders called "PROUPDATE" & "Fastrecovery" to PSP > GAME

STEP 3: On your PSP 3000, go to your GAME section to where you placed the folders. Located and run the "PROUPDATE" file.

    STEP 4
: When you entered the "PROUPDATE" program, press the "X" button on your PSP 3000 to run the custom firmware.

Your PSP 3000 should now be running on your new custom firmware and you can safely delete the "PROUPDATE" file but DON'T delete the "Fastrecovery" file. The "Fastrecovery" file well quickly return your PSP 3000 back to the new custom firmware if it ever gets fully shut down.

Not after you've experienced its stiff, tiny, recessed controls. Its not a hand size issue either. Big, small, medium, etc. Its frustrating all around.

Yeesh. Yet another manufacturer too concerned with sheer compactness, and lost sight of the all-important issues of ergonomics. Unless you're playing something simple like an RPG, Sonic game, or tetris with simple directional use, its otherwise just a pain in the ass. Fighting games are obviously out. So are run & guns with their quick movements and precise diagonal use, beat'em ups are very iffy, and shooters too.

It made me appreciate the controls on a normal PSP so much more, as they are practically transplanted from a PS2 gamepad and feel comfy and responsible.

Edit: and dayyyyymmmm.....shockingly, the Sony Xperia play phone is even worse!

The Go is easy as hell to mod, and most emulators that function on PSP-3000 will work with it. The question is: do you REALLY want one?

Edit: Oops! Thought you were talking about the Go. Modding a PSP-3000 in the modern era is super EASY now. Stuff like the battery trick has been obsolete for years now, and since fallen into disuse.

Now its just a matter of finding the right files you need(easy), and loading them to your memory stick and launching them. I had 6.20 Pro-B10 on my last PSP-3000.
