I got an SMS a while back... I love being able to play those old SG-1000 games on it - some of them like Drol were my all-time favorite games of the time. I use a flash cart, the Neo Myth for SMS, which also give us US folks the FM chip. I got my SMS with the light gun... I plan to get the 3D glasses sometime this year. The SMS is an awesome console... it's a bit odd why it didn't do so well in the US other than maybe it came out around the big crash. At the time, I was more into home computers than consoles (the Atari home computer, then the Amiga).
The Master Systems sound abilities is always a target of nes fans. Quite frankly I can always listen to other music while playing if the game music is actually bad, you can't replace the ugly visuals of a nes game though
But really its all down to the quality of the tune and making the best of what tech there is. Much as some Nes games look great, while others really show up the systems graphical limitations. Some good examples of SMS music:

Sir... please:

You'll still get enough of the effect to appreciate them, probably (depending on how bad your bad eye is). I'm also legally blind in one eye. When I see a modern 3D movie... I can get some of the effect, but lots of it is lost on me. Still, I can see that it's in 3D (sort of for me, at least) and appreciate it. It's the same with the 3-D glasses. I can get at least part of the effect and appreciate it.
No they're not. I might as well just call you an indiscriminate glutton, except that's not very useful for discussion. From the 8 bit era I'm intersted in the C64 and to a lesser extent the MSX as well, only the 7th gen has been occupying too much of my time to delve into further machines. The SMS I already gave several shots. I went through an entire ROM set once and later a more focused approach on the best titles according to a few websites including this one, the recommendations here coming from the former member jesus.arnold's Top 100 list and the opposing views it stirred. Before somebody starts hurling at emulation let me remind him it enables one to play with any controller whilst the SMS's own is infamous even amongst the system's devotees, to map buttons however one sees fit (I like shoulder buttons for certain things), to statesave for the best use of playtime, to enjoy optimal output rather than having to dick about with tv settings and signal upgrades, and to play games from every region. The only thing it lacked was the lightgun which I wasn't about to judge from a computer mouse and I did acknowledge before. Moreover emulation is how I sample the majority of old systems, old systems for which I frequently find something to like. All I found on the SMS was a handful of good backburner titles such as the Zillions, Master of Darkness, and three or four others left in a list somewhere; its best game Zaxxon I already knew of. A few other prominent titles such as Golvellius will get one last shot some time down the road; if I find anything worth picking up the hardware for the lightgun games will come next. That total effort is a beyond reasonable attempt to enjoy a console whose nearly every game is ugly looking, limp sounding, and languid playing.
See, its statements like this which just make you look ridiculous, and to be fair its not often you're really that taken in by nostalgia, and bias, certainly not to this level.
If you you think the SMS has ugly graphics, then how the hell can you stand to play the NES, with its horrific 2bp graphics, and uber low colour sprites?! Master System is very much an entire generational leap above the NES in graphics, heck I remember an argument between some techies once where they tried to define what the characteristics of a 4th generation machine should be (being that bittage is meaningless), and one guy stated 4bp graphics, and 15 colour sprites were, to him what defined the graphics of that generation, which people were fine with, until someone pointed out that the SMS had both those aspects.
Where I'm concerned using save states is pretty much obviously cheating, and gives a very skewed idea of a game's gameplay. A game which would take a decent amount of practice, and replays would have a respectable game time when played on a real console, but would be over ridiculously quickly with save states, and a game with very frustrating gameplay would be made much easier going, and more forgiving.
