Seriously, the Sonic Advance games are fantastic, and Sonic Rush is one of the best Sonic games there is. What SEGA needs to do is just let DIMPS handle everything.
I played probably 5 minutes of a Sonic Advance game some years ago.

The only thing i took away from it was a huge heaping pile of disappointment for the GBA sound chip.

Why do games designed for this system have such tinny, 8-bit sound?

This I know.. because the GBA sound system is hard to program.. It's got both a "sampler", and the old GB sound hardware...

it's sampler is quite limited, but people do pull off some good stuff with it.. but some programmers take the easy route and enable the GB hardware AND the sampler, just to squeeze extra notes.
