SONIC1.... stood the test of time?

I like having the spin dash in Sonic 1 via Sonic Jam. In fact, I wish they'd added the super peel-out too. Screw you all.

Then once they add the homing attack you'll be in heaven. Maybe Sonic should get a fireflower too.

Still my favorite Sonic game. I noticed (first time ever) the rippling in Labyrinth Zone when I played a revised version of Sonic.
Was this revised version ever officially released on a Mega Drive cartridge?

Yeah, the Japanese version was released a few months after the one in Europe/America so it had a few extra effects (extra parallax scrolling in Marble and Spring Yard zone, for example).

Get Sonic Jam for the Saturn. They added the spin dash to Sonic 1 in it.

I thought you can if you play it with Sonic & Knuckles as well? Its been a long time since I played that so my memory on that is hazy.

Locking on Sonic 1 with Sonic & Knuckles just gets you a massive collection of S3&K-style special stages.

There is a Knuckles in Sonic 1 romhack, but it kind of sucks. Of course, there's a regular Sonic 1 with spin dash romhack as well.
