It looks like most of these accidents occur because the players have little room to move around and they don't hold on to the Wiimote for whatever reason. A simple solution would be just make sure the room you play in is free of clutter and HOLD ON TO THE DAMN THING! They can't expect the strap to hold back the Wiimote each time, it's only there so you don't drop it.
Up on the shelf; it's a bird, it's a plane, it's Sega Genesis! Faster processing than a SNES, more powerful than a TG-16, able to play 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit and CD-ROM games on a single system (with the CD, 32x and power base converter, of course)
Bowling continues to be a dangerous sport.
You dont HAVE to do and entire motion for the proper speed, but I guess once you get into a game, it can become uncontrollable.
Or so I have read, cause i'm poor.
I keep getting a mental image of some poor Japanese fellow jumping around, Wiimote in hand, knocking things over and smashing everything inside his tiny one-room flat trying to get a perfect tennis game going.Originally Posted by 16-bit pwnage

The girl in the current video makes me want to hurt people. I wish she would shut up wailing. The Wii looks like too much effort to own - If I want to excercise I would go on a run. When I play computer games I want to be sitting down, relaxed and with a cup of coffee and some fattening food, not jigging around like breakdancer on speed.
I'm even to annoyed to come up with an "in Soviet Russia, controller breaks YOU!!" type thing.
I don't want a video game system which makes you look like a retard when playing it. The good ol' Nintendo Zapper drew the line for that behaviour.

You don't need to wave the remote around like a chimp, although it is pretty enjoyable that way. The sensitivity is such that you can use the controller perfectly well from a seated position while using short arm or wrist gestures.
..haha, and honestly, when has gaming ever been about looking cool? Aside from devastating suckers in the arcades years ago (which was only cool to other gamers, mind you), it's not as as if it's hip to sit there, unmoving, looking all serious with a Dual Shock in hand.
I don't want to be cool. Just act cool. Like Mr Smith said, exercising and video gaming don't fit. But that's just also my opinion. I understand if people like this high tech cyber stuff that will be a revolution and new face for home video games. For me, video games make my brain work, and my body relax. Not the reverse.

The Wii is fun to use though.
That is all that will matter in the end (aside from 3rd party support of course).
So how much innovative use is the DS touchpad getting, now the system's not new and smelling of fresh, out-of-the-box plastic?

The DS???
depends on the choice of the developers really.
you can have it as a central aspect (like serving as central control, or navigation) of the game or as a peripheral aspect (like modifying weapons, or playing puzzle sequences).
Or you can use it as a second display for maps, radar, enemy info, or item finder (Megaman ZX uses ALL those options).
the option is just there.
regardless of touch-screen functionality, the DS is outselling the PSP almost everywhere I look. At local outlets, PSPs are just sitting there in surplus while most or ALL of the DS-Lites are gone.
as for relaxing and eating pork-rinds when gaming.
you can do that as well since a wiggle is all it takes for most games.
But the option is still there if you want to get up and perform a giant swing, since that's fun too.
if developers need a game to be designed according to traditional controls on the Wii, they can always just use the classic controller.
I'm still happy with the purchase and still see titles I want on the Shelves NOW (namely Trauma Center, Monkey Ball, and MAYBE Red-Steel) with undeniably more to come.
I just don't see the same for the $700 PS3 and it's ONE solid (yet non-killer app) title.
That and $400 is still too much for me to get a 360 despite having healthy savings from working over the last 6 months.

Looks like Nintendo is looking in the issue with the Wii controller flying out of gamers hands.
Nintendo chief investigating Wii strap problem, may raise sales target
Also goes into to the numbers of systems shipped"We are investigating," Iwata said of reports about the Wii's strap coming off as players swung around the controller, at times causing the remote to fly out of their hands
.....
"Some people are getting a lot more excited than we'd expected," Iwata said. "We need to better communicate to people how to deal with Wii as a new form of entertainment."
Nintendo has shipped about 400,000 Wii machines in Japan and more than 600,000 in North America. The machine went on sale Thursday in Australia and is set to go on sale Friday in Europe.
Sony readied just 100,000 PlayStation 3 machines for the Japan launch, and 400,000 consoles for its U.S. debut. Its European launch has been pushed back until March.
Sony has promised 2 million PS3 machines by the end of the year, while Nintendo is targeting 4 million in global shipments of Wii during the same period. Both Sony and Nintendo are projecting selling 6 million by the end of March.
