I guess it's supposed to represent someone pulling a gun from the back of their belt, but that isn't how it looks.
Here comes the Canadian Gun nut...
My Russian SKS 1953R Tula 7.62x39 Semi Automatic rifle up top and my Ruger SR-22 .22LR Semi Automatic Rifle with Butler Creek Steel Lips 25rd Magazine below.
Both are great fun!

Is that an SKS and a supped-up 10/22? I'd say.
P.S.> What are the gun laws like in your part of the world?
Yep the SR-22 is basically a factory "supped up" 10/22.
Well in Canada it's much more strict than the US (even worse than Cali!) but of course compared to say Australia or the UK we still have it pretty good. You have to take a safety course and written test to apply with the RCMP and get a PAL license to obtain and own firearms. There is another test and a higher level "restricted PAL" license required to get handguns and certain "restricted" class rifles. But we don't have any kind of CCW, basically the average Joe in Canada can NOT carry a firearm around for personal protection. Handguns much be locked in a trunk and only taken to and from a supported gun range. That's if you have a special permit just to transport it.

^Sounds terrible. Does that mean you can't just own your own land and go out shooting whenever you feel like it?
And to start-up a discussion:
I just watched the 3rd episode of "Revolution", and they alluded to the fact that in that future bullets are "rare".
What do you guys think of that? What? No one reloads in the future? Not only that. I noticed all militia men sporting musket-like muzzle-loaders (most-possibly black powder). WTF?
In most areas if you live outside of the city limits on your own land you can shoot the non-restricted (most rifles) but you can't shoot restricted (handguns and some rifles)
The RCMP can simply decide what rifles are restricted based on the looks. There are no guidelines or specifications. For example the AR-15 is restricted. Okay, fine. But so is the S&W M&P 15-22 even though it's just a semi-automatic .22LR and while it looks like an AR-15 it does not operate or use the same internals as an AR-15. They simply don't like the way it looks.
My Ruger SR-22 is non-restricted but many other "Tactical" .22LR's are restricted like the mentioned 15-22 and the Mossberg Tactical Plinkster. I just hope that one day they don't decide that my Ruger SR-22 should be restricted! But you see how a Mossberg Plinkster can be non-restricted yet a "tactical plinkster" can be restricted. It's only based on the looks, not the specs since they could be the same length barrel, overall length and operation. Only the looks set them apart.
Oh and get this.
Ruger BX-25's are prohibited in Canada yet none of the aftermarket 10/22 25rd (and more) magazines are! Simply because Ruger advertises it working on the Charger pistol. Any magazine that works in a 10/22 works in the Charger Pistol! But just because they put that on the package it's prohibited!
Sounds fucked-up. How are the laws for purchasing ammunition and reloading/handloading, then?
You simply need your PAL and you can buy whatever ammo you want. I don't handload but there's nothing stopping us from that all the reloading equipment, brass, powder and bullets are easily purchased. I don't know of any restrictions to what you can buy or how much you can buy at a time if there is any. I don't think there would be but I wouldn't know either!
i love ww2 era bolt action rifles!
i used to own 2 mosin-nagants one was a full length from the tula arsenal the year escapes me at the moment
the other was a carbine from izhevsk it was a 43 i think
the only rifle i currently own is an arisaka type 99 it's an early one though not one of those shitty later models from when they didn't have the materials to make decent rifles anymore. i have never seen a rifle with so many "gadgets" on it! lol
Time to revive this one...
My latest haul:
The one pictured isn't mine mine is on a 10 Day waiting period and I can't take it home yet...
The one I got is unfired still in the original box like the pictures, unopened since 1980 (when it was put in the box)
Remington 1100 12GA 1 of 3000 150 Year commemorative, I'm going to trick it out and make it into another competition gun...awesome...I will track my progress here...needs a custom stock with even nicer wood and stock dimensions, gonna port it and put new chokes in it...bitchen.
