Was Golden Axe 3 ever released to the US or Europe Markets? Is there a definitive checklist for US Genesis games available for printing? Perhaps one that may note rarity and if it had a cardboard box or a clamshell case?

According to Ebay, Golden Axe 3 in the US market is the PS3 version of Golden Axe Beast Rider. My saved search is all but useless.
The Megadrive game was not released here.

Nope. Interesting enough Golden Axe 3 does not region lock Europe, even though it wasn't released there either. Probably so Asian PAL systems could play.
Interesting.
Wasn't it on the Sega Channel?

I thought it was released on the Genesis because its on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for the Xbox 360/PS3.
Edit - Was only released in Japan for the Mega Drive but was on the Sega Channel in North America.

The group fighting mechanics were the best of any 3D group fighting game. The parry and evade mechanic made sure of that, but the rest of the game is at least on par with the best of the generation gameplay wise. I still have no figured out what people hate about this game. In comparison to God of War or Devil May Cry's gameplay, Beast Rider's fighting mechanics are a generation ahead.
The only fault I can see is in the story and presentation, and lack of multiplayer.

I noticed that too, several of the game carts on that disc are poorly done photo edits. It is a shame Sega couldn't be bothered with putting nice photos of their own products, but I'd say if the truth was told nobody at Sega or Backbone even has the original carts, much less the artwork.
It's kinda weird since the Sega Genesis Collection had the original covers of the games. Even for Golden Axe III they had the Japanese cover.
And as for the carts you can really tell those before they had the red label were just badly done edits just from the fucking main menu. They could have asked Sega of Japan, considering the Sega Ages 2500 games had full scans not only of the Japanese artwork but also of the American and European artwork. I presume SOJ still has that stuff.

Speaking of fake looking covers, I think the Golden Axe 3 cover is so cheap and knocked together that it looks like a bootleg. Also, the vast majority of copies out there Asian, not Japanese.
What you actually imported games before widespread internet adoption?
