Sega DS-16 Unit

Not mine but though I'd throw this out here. Found an auction for one of these units and people are bidding up the ass on it.

I have one of those, I was extremely lucky. There was a dentist that had one and they were gonna throw it out to upgrade it with another console but I offered them my Gamecube and Soinc Mega Collection, the Genesis DS-16 is now one of my prized items in my collection. BTW, mine still has a button attached to the wire so you can still swich games, and if you don't the game automatically switches every 5 or 10 minutes, it's annoying.

Dentist, you say? Would that dentist happen to be a Dr. Bunn? Reason I ask is because he was my dentist and had a DS-16. I think he may have had two.

There is another sliding switch at the rear, that one sets the game auto switching timing on & off. I removed the front main wired button, and installed a push switch on top for easy access.

Lol, I read "Pics or it didn't happen" and I was like "Oh I guess I'll take pics" but then I saw you were joking. Taking pics would've been a pain anyway because I keep it up high in the closet so no one can get to it easily.

I never noticed the switch on the rear, that helps a lot!

I kept the button attached because I thought it was cool, that and I didn't think modding it would be such an easy task (I'm lazy, my brother did all the work of taking out the DS-16 and fixing up the arcade cabinet for the Gamecube and put in the Gamecube.)

And MegaMac, no it was not Dr.Bunn, they only had one and next to it was a Sega Pico, they had that Tails game playing on it, I remember playing it when I was extremely young on our first Pico, for some reason we didn't have it anymore and my brother eventually bought another, with no tails game.

I hate to bump an old thread but I figured I better since I just now found it. While I didn't win the unit I am the one who pushed to over $300. See here. I'm user mchr9750.

I did find one 8 months later for $265 and still have it so I'm happy.
