Question Streets of Rage 2 & Xymox

I think there are strange similiraties between SOR 2 musics and Xymox's "Headclouds" soundtracks.
Which one influenced the other ? Difficult to say, or is this a bizarre coincidence ?

    Youtube it.
Xymox - Spiritual High, sounds very similar to a certain SoR track.

If you search well on Google, you will find music websites where you can listen to mp3 extracts.
I own the original record "Headclouds", it is not the one I prefered musically from this band.
Clan of Xymox is a Gothic Rock band (quite good according to me), but Xymox is only an Electro side of them.
When I first listen to this particular album, I asked myself : "Did the composer play Street of Rage 2 ?"

That was a pretty interesting observation. I took the time to listen to their album "Headclouds" and they clearly have that late 80s vibe in their music. They are quite good actually! I have a sneaky suspicion I have heard of this band before (Maybe in the late 80s or early 90s on 102.1 "The Edge with Chris Sheppard?). I'm going to have to listen to their other albums to know for sure!

After doing a quick search online I discovered that the band is still alive and kicking! In fact their latest album was just recently released on October 9 2012! Maybe if you are really interested in finding the answer to your question, you can send them a quick email through their web site located at http://www.clanofxymox.com/

So what songs sound similar, some examples would be nice.

Didn't notice any obvious similarities. If anything one part of "Spiritual High" reminded me of other 90s music which also might have been the inspiration for Koshiro.

I think I have a 'Clan of Xymox' track somewhere - just a moment...

    I found it - it's 'Obsession.'

And this one make me think about Random Cross :

You have also Indra band, who make some songs which me think about Go Straight :

(Another song called Never wanna Stop, by the same band, is very close to Streets of Rage soundtrack.)

    You have also Landlord :

My Top20 Sega Genesis Soundtrack (It is no longer updated, but it is the only video I made! And it's game by game, not track by track. You can play blindtest.)
