I feel the same way, what with the old console wars, but in the end I came out the winner as I had a large selection of 16 bit goodness to tide me over. Two different consoles, so many good games, I love my SNES and my Genesis, they have so much to offer me.

While I agree with the general sentiment that the SNES was the best RPG system of the 16-bit console era, I don't think the Genesis was that far behind for what was available in English if we include SRPGs, WRPGs, and Sega CD stuff.

    This goes for me too.

To some Nintendo fans apparently liking the Genesis more or sticking up for the Genesis means you must hate the SNES and console wars arguments errupt.

The SNES's brawlers are mostly garbage or the Genesis? Personally I think both systems have very good beat-em-ups: Genesis with Streets of Rage 2, Final Fight CD, TMNT: Hyperstone Heist, Captain America and the Avengers, etc. and the SNES with TMNT IV Turtles in Time, Sunset Riders, Knights of the Round, Final Fight 3.

I thought they were both pretty solid in that regard.

I didnt get a SNES until way after I got a Genesis but I dont really have any problems with the SNES other than the slowdown on certain games.

The SNES is awesome and has lots of great games. Liking some consoles doesn't make me dislike others.

I like the SNES a lot. But there's way too much fanboyism around it. It's worse now than it was in the 90s.

    I like the SNES.
But if you start putting it against the Mega Drive I'll get angry. You do not want to see me angry.
For those who lived the good old days the "console wars" is far from dead.

I was a total Sega fanboy during the 90's. Though I will say after MKII hit I liked it way better on the SNES than I did on any Sega systems. With that being said I can appreciate the SNES more than I could back then. What I dislike about the SNES right now is it's sky high price tag in trying to collect for it. The prices for common games are high as fuck. And then finding CIB collections is very hard outside of ebay. 19.99 for a fuckin Super Mario World+Mario All Stars manual are you out of your fuckin mind?

I was worst, when I was around 10 - 12 years old. I use to be a COMPLETE SNES FANATIC. I would always pick the snes over the genesis with ignorant statements and no logic behind it. There's one video on YouTube about Thunder Spirits that I can't find but I left a comment there LONG ago about me saying how the music on the genesis version fucking sucked and telling people they were jealous that the genesis version couldn't sound as the snes version.

God I can't believe I use to act like that.

The SNES is a fine console. A classic, hardcore system that blurred the line between software innovation, ingenuity and amusement.

I was one of those kids that owned BOTH SNES and Genesis and was proud of it. Genesis was more sophisticated. Sure it was inferior tech wise(It used the Mark III/Master System's CPU for sound), but it was definitely hardcore and had a very memorable library.

I am a loyal, hardcore SEGA fan. I avoided the entire 7th gen. I detest Wii, think Gamecube is lame, consider the PS1 to be a dated piece of hardware crap that's aged poorly, and have been holding on the hope that SEGA will get back in the hardware business for several years.

All the studying and research of ORBI this year has ignited that hope into a BLAZE. The brand states that SEGA is INDEED coming back.

    http://trademarks.justia.com/855/17/orbi-85517210.html

SEGA has also been busy in the patent dept and RENEWED all of its hardware liceneses in 2009.
