Inferior to Saturn ok but garbage is pretty harsh IMO.

Which games ? Einhander still looks great. Maybe the 2d games have aged better.
Agreed on PS1. The way I view Saturn vs. PS1 is much like Genesis and SNES. The former has better action games and the latter better RPGs, though as a person who studies japanese, I have access to more text-based games in the library that are not in english, and believe Saturn can also contend quite well in that field. Too bad SoA was reluctant to bring more RPGs over because the RPG boom hit in the west right around the time of the Saturn's demise and ultimately FF7's release.
Anyways, back on topic. I owned SNES, NES and Genesis as a kid, and personally enjoyed all of them. I never owned as many SNES games; they were often expensive at the time and even now. Towards the late 90s/early 00s when I got back in to Genesis, I was finding tons of hidden gems for as cheap as 2 dollars a piece. I've never in my life had as big a collection of SNES titles because of the higher prices and demand for the games I want, but I do have fond memories of most first-party Nintendo titles and Square RPGs I've had the pleasure of playing. I also enjoyed most of Capcom's offerings on the SNES including both Disney and Megaman titles.
Do you think Super Mario Land has aged better?
Exactly.
The SNES was the first console I ever owned. It has a fantastic library chock-full of great RPGs and platformers that are just as good as some of the Genesis exclusives. With that being said, it really does kind of suck to collect for these days, and so many great games (namely RPGs) got left in Japan. I got to play a little bit of Romancing Saga 3 at a friend's house recently and it is a damned shame none of those games made it over here.
I really like Super Mario Land as a kid, it's been a long time since I've played it though. But, Super Mario World is one of the best games ever made I think, it's my favourite Mario game besides the SNES version of Super Mario Bros. 3 (the NES version would be my favourite but there's no way to save in it, seriously what were they thinking? It should have been on both the FDS and a battery back up cart!).
In regards to the point of "Mario Land"
& "Mario World", I agree that SMW has aged far better.
But compared to SMB. 3, Mario 3 wins hands down. It's much more addictive, more innovative, more fun and feels polished. Mario 3. Was THE game to own back in '89 & '90. It's perfection. Brilliance.
SMW is a nice platformer and strong SNES launch title, but it's not as polished as Mario 3. For one it's slower, it's less polished as SMB. 3, the level aren't as fun and the one thing I hated was the "Mario 1 life cycle".
When you get hit, you shrink automatically. Why? That wasn't the case in Mario 3.

In regards to Saturn and PSX, i look at both fondly and hold no bias or ill will towards PSX. It was a great system with an excellent library of its own.
Just hearing/seeing the PSX boot-up screen results in a nostalgiagasm lol. Back in the day both systems sat comfortably side by side on my gaming set-up.
On the other side of that coin, they're also missing out big time if they don't have or never had a Genesis. Anyway, i think most Sega fanboys just can't help but feel a little animosity to Nintendo even after all this time. Understandable. Especially since it still kinda occupies most of the 16-bit limelight today, despite the Genesis being about even in the console wars.

The Super Nintendo's. Both consoles' though if we're appraising their entire stock. The SNES good are TMNT 4 and (...how did Sunset Riders make this category for you?...) at a stretch Iron Commando, one of the Rushing Beats, and another one or two that might be escaping my memory just now. Quiz & Dragons makes a better brawler than Knights of the Round. Anyhow it's not the 3 enemies a screen limitation that ruins so many SNES brawlers but their 2 button play; that works for Turtles but little else.
On the Sega side, you honestly like Heist and CC but SoR's only a 6/10 for you?
Super Double Dragon single handedly legitimizes the SNES Beat-em Up category, slowdown and all. I guess Final Fight is okay, but yeah the three enemy limit really kills SNES Beat-em Ups for me. I very much prefer playing Hyperstone Heist over Turtles in Time SNES, better more fluid animation and more enemies make it a better Beat-em Up for me. Captain America and the Avengers on Genesis is better than most SNES Beat-em Ups for similar reasons, I just wish it was a better conversion of the Arcade game.

A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."
The SNES is great, also agreed on SMB3 > SMW. SMB3 feels more polished and the levels seem a little less repetitive. Prefer Super Mario Land 2 to both of them though. That game is a classic.
Since when is Super Mario Land trash? I think it's quite good and a bit more simple, much like the original Super Mario Bros. is. Super Mario Land 2 is more akin to World in that same vein.
As far as 3D games aging worse goes, it really is true. Some of the most popular games of the time period, like Tomb Raider, Spyro the Dragon, et al are really some of the most boring fetch-quests ever. Even Super Mario 64, as good as it was, doesn't have that same luster that Super Mario Bros. 3 does.
Streets of Rage 1 for me is quite bland, 2 makes one obsolete in every single way. And how about Captain Commando for SNES? Another solid Beat-Em-Up. And perhaps Sunset Riders isn't really a beat-em-up persay, but I always saw it in the same vein as the other Konami beat-em-ups, the whole layout anyway. It's no fast-and-furious shooter like say, Gunstar Heroes or Contra Hard Corps. Sunset Riders on the Genesis in comparison is total garbage. And personally I never really thought that the SNES nerfed beat-em-ups as badly as people said, the first Final Fight not-withstanding, but that's just my opinion. TMNT IV had everything from the arcade and then some, plus good hit detection. I mean it's not like the Genesis was so much better at handling beat-em-ups, otherwise we might've gotten better ports of The Punisher and Michael Jackson's Moonwalker.
Regardless, if you own both systems, you will find must-owns in the beat-em-up genre for each one.
