^I'd assume as much. Composite is ideal, but just having a reliable NES console is enough for me lol.

Composite sucks. I wish the NES did RGB.
You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.
That's what I was just going to say...can't you just mod it?
I still stand by my assertion that controllers are all personal preference, and there will always be people who love/hate certain controllers. I think the Saturn Model 2 controllers prove this point pretty well; one of the best controllers to ever exist, but you still have people who will argue all day about why it's not worthy of said praise.
You can't really mod the NES for RGB. I mean, you CAN, but the parts to do so aren't easy to come by.

Everyone seems to think that the dam level ruins the game because of how broken it is, but I've recently been able to get through it without losing a life. It's really not that hard when you get used to it.
Any one mention the DOS version, unless you cheat... it can't be beat. Haven't read the thread but yep, the DOS version can't be beat unless you cheat. :/
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...
Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

It's not as easy as "just mod it". To get rgb from a nes or famicom you need a compatible rgb ppu chip and they're getting harder and harder to find (thanks partly to me installing them in peoples consoles). A friend sent me a link to an ebay auction for a nes compatible rgb ppu that sold for over 300$ before shipping.
And yes controller preference is always up to the individual. I remember a lot of people complaining about the avenue pad 6 for the pc engine but I love that control pad.
As for people who think the nes rgb pallette is too saturated I suggest you convert the rgb into s-video or component and just add resistors to the colour lines....or turn down the colour saturation on your tv. Personally I like my console having nice vibrant colours, now whenever I see the standard composite ppu pallette everything looks washed out to me.
I'd also love to see a reproduction or fpga nes rgb ppu chip. One that has built in outputs for s-video, component, hdmi / whatever would be awesome. Hopefully a fpga ppu wouldn't make the console look / feel more like a clone system that's my only concern really.
As for the first tmnt I get as far in it as I get in the original metal gear, which is not very far at all before I get so annoyed with it that I go and play something else. If it wasn't for the difficulty I would certainly enjoy the game. What surprised me is that my famicom copy of tmnt 3: the manhatten project has a difficulty select menu as well as a music player. Tmnt 3 is wayyyyy more playable on the famicom version just because of the added options menu and the music player is awesome. I think I googled it and couldn't find any code or anything to change the difficulty on the nes cart of tmnt 3. Even tmnt 2 for the famicom is slightly easier than the nes version and I prefer the difficulty of the famicom version of tmnt 2 as well.

I just realized I have not one, but TWO copies of the first TMNT NES title on my shelf downstairs...
