Final Fantasy's models aren't that great on the PS1. I don't see the Saturn having much of a problem rendering them. I'd say Shining Force III's models are about on par.
If you're talking about Final Fantasy VII, sure. Final Fantasy VIII and IX? I don't know about that.

I really don't see how they would be "better" on the Saturn, though. Perhaps more expensive to collect today. For that reason alone, I'm glad they came out on the PSX.

Tomb Raider 1 suffers from some texture issues on saturn but i think its a lot worse on PS1.

My thoughts on how they would be better would be the way VDPII could help with the backgrounds in the dungeon and town areas. I would bet you could get those areas running in High Res mode if you really tried possibly getting it to look on par with the PC version. The battles I could see you getting a higher frame rate by using VDPII to handle the flat parts of the ground.

I have yet to play IX but VIIIs models really don't look that out of reach for the Saturn, especially if again you are using VDPII to handle the floors. From what I remember of FFVIII the battle scenery doesn't really have a lot of hills to it.

I agree that Killer Instinct would have been REALLY cool on the N64. It wouldn't be QUITE as scaled back as the SNES version, but definitely nicer looking and sounding. I also think Capcom should have focused on porting Street Fighter Alpha 2 to the N64 as well rather than the SNES.

The Mega Man X games could have been really cool on the Genesis, and the music I imagine would have been more rockin'!

Anyway, the reason I say X3 is because of the direction they went with the sound. They thought Megagrunge X3 would be good, and it isn't. Even though the game overall is enjoyable, it's also highly flawed and has bad sound design that you'd think would sound better on the Genesis until you realize Capcom of all companies couldn't program anything well back then on the Genesis, especially sound wise.

Funnily enough, there's a bootleg of Rockman X3 for the Genesis, and it's horrendous.

Same Generation hardware, but could possibly end up being better due to the way VPD1 and VDP2 work together. If those games were actually made with the Saturn in mind I'd imagine at the very least the parts that are just basic models on a 2D background would run in High Resolution mode.

Resident Evil was on the Saturn, it had poorer grafx, lower polygon counts, and lacked light source shading.

Sin & Punishment should have been for the Dreamcast instead of N64. The N64 looks great but I think the Dreamcast would have handled it much better. Either that or make it on the Playstation 2, with dual analog controls. It came out so late in the N64s lifespan that not many people really got to play it probably, especially since it was japan-only at the time. It probably would have seen a bigger audience in Japan even if it had been released on the PS1 or Saturn, since the N64 was third place behind the Saturn and Playstation.

All N64 DD games should have been released either on Cart format or on the gamecube. they should have cancelled the DD altogether, it was pointless! Instead they should have made a CD add-on for the 64 which would bring the total price of the n64 up to somewhere in between the Saturn's and Playstations price. Then, release a Duo system later on.

Mortal Kombat should have been released on the NEO-GEO AES. Seriously.
If that had happened, the AES would have gotten some attention in the US i think.

I'm aware of that and it's an obvious poor port. There is absolutely no reason the Saturn shouldn't be able to run that game as well as if not better than the PS1. It's just drawing a handful of models over a 2D background after all. That's an ideal situation for the way the VDPs are set up and work together.

Many Saturn games had poorer graphics on Playstation. Aside from sloppy ports, all that it proves is that games designed around one console are better suited to that console when done the same way. Something like Dead or Alive is different, as it was originally a Model 2 game, but it still shows the extremes of tailoring to each console.

TMNT: The NES port was really stripped over everything that made the arcade great.
32X: Some of these games would've helped combat the Saturn back in 95.
Shinobi: The MS is an ok game but it would've been great on the Genesis.
Outrunners: Was a horrible port on the underpowered Genesis.
Final Fight Revenge: I'm glad this trash ass game got canned on the DC. It was also one of the last Saturn games and the last 4MB ram game. And it is by far the worst one out there. The irony of this game was that it was made in the USA but was never released here lol.
Moon Walker: Would've been a great SCD game.

ALL games would be better on MD. Past, present, and future. That is a fact.

The only problem with your previous post is that you used a Sega side interview as "proof" that Sonic R couldn't have being done on the PS1. And, IMO, it's pure bullcrap (the interview).
In terms of racing games, PS1 has far more better looking games than the Saturn; and usually running at higher framerates
All games on one system can be done on another - its just what they will lose in translation to another console . When it came to VDP II effects the PS had a hard time doing them, just like the Saturn had a nightmare with PS effects like 3D transparency and lighting . It can all be done in software, but to me its always better to have Hardware support

But some of my games would be

PS IV - Should have been a Mega CD title

Comic Zone - Should have been a High Res Saturn 2 player title

Thunder Hawk II - Should have been a Mega CD title with all the improvements made with the Soul Star Engine

Moneyball - Should have been a Dreamcast game

Star Wars Arcade - Saturn title

Shining Wisdom - Should have stayed a Mega Drive title

Castlevania: Rondo of Blood - A Mega CD title using some fancy sprite effects
